2020–21 UConn Huskies Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 UConn Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Huskies are led by third-year head coach Dan Hurley in their first season of the Big East Conference. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, COVID-19 pandemic, the Huskies played all of their home games this year at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion on the UConn campus in Storrs, Connecticut. The Huskies returned to the new Big East Conference, Big East for the 2020–21 season following seven years in the American Athletic Conference. They finished the season 15-8, 11-6, in 2020–21 Big East Conference men's basketball season, Big East Play to finish in 3rd place. Dan Hurley
Daniel S. Hurley (born January 16, 1973) is an American basketball coach who currently coaches the University of Connecticut men's basketball team. Hurley was named head coach of the Huskies on March 22, 2018, after two years at Wagner College and six years at the University of Rhode Island. Hurley turned down an aggressive long-term offer from Rhode Island in order to lead UConn. Prior to Wagner, Hurley was head coach of Saint Benedict's Preparatory School, where he is credited with building the New Jersey school into one of the top high school basketball programs in America. Hurley played five years of college basketball, including a redshirt year, at Seton Hall. During his first three seasons, his head coach was P. J. Carlesimo. Alterique Gilbert
Alterique Lamont Gilbert (born October 6, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for BC Kalev/Cramo of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League. He previously played for the UConn Huskies and the Wichita State Shockers. Early life Gilbert is originally from Richmond, Virginia but moved to Lithonia, Georgia as he entered his teenage years. He was raised by his mother, Tamonica Alexander, and was not acquainted with his father, Alcuero Gilbert, who was incarcerated for about 10 years. Gilbert grew up playing football and started focusing on basketball in seventh grade. High school career Gilbert played basketball for Miller Grove High School near Lithonia. The Patrick School
The Patrick School is an independent private co-educational four-year high school in Hillside in Union County, New Jersey, United States. The school was established in 2012 following the closure of St. Patrick High School Academy, which was a co-educational four-year Catholic high school in Elizabeth, New Jersey, that operated under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark and had been founded as a vocational school in 1863 as part of Saint Patrick's Parish in Elizabeth, making it the oldest parochial high school in New Jersey. The Patrick School originally operated on the site in Elizabeth that had been St. Patrick High School and the school has continued to carry on the legacy of its predecessor even after its move to Hillside. Adama Sanogo (born 12 February 2002) is a Malian professional basketball player for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Windy City Bulls of the NBA G League. In 2023 he won the national championship with the UConn Huskies and was named the Final Four's Most Outstanding Player. Rhode Island Rams Men's Basketball
The Rhode Island Rams men's basketball team is a college basketball program that competes in NCAA Division I and the Atlantic 10 Conference. The team was recently under the direction of head coach David Cox, who was formerly Assistant Coach to Dan Hurley for four years at Rhode Island. The Rams play their home games at the Ryan Center (capacity 7,657) which opened in 2002. Tyrese Jeffrey Martin (born March 7, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The SIU Edwardsville Cougars men's basketball team represents Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) in the Ohio Valley Conference of NCAA Division I basketball. The Cougars play their home matches at the Sam M. Vadalabene Center located in the SIUE core campus in Edwardsville, Illinois.
