2020–21 Montenegrin First League
The 2020–21 Montenegrin First League was the 15th season of the top-tier association football in Montenegro. The season began on 14 August 2020 and ended on 25 May 2021. The league winners qualified for a place in the 2021–22 UEFA Champions League. Budućnost were the defending champions after winning the league in the previous season. Teams Defender of the title was Budućnost, while other teams which participated in previous season were Sutjeska, Iskra, Zeta, Podgorica, Petrovac, Rudar and Titograd. Grbalj and Kom were relegated at the end of the previous season. After earning promotion from the Montenegrin Second League, FK Dečić and FK Jezero competed in the league this season. Montenegrin First League
The First League of Montenegro ( Montenegrin: ''Prva crnogorska fudbalska liga'' — ''Prva CFL'' — ''1. CFL''; ) is the top football league in Montenegro. Founded in 2006, competition is headed by the Football Association of Montenegro. 10 teams participate in this league. The winner of the Montenegrin First League starts the qualifications for the UEFA Champions League from the second round. The second and third placed team and Montenegrin Cup winner play in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Conference League. The last placed team is directly relegated to the Montenegrin Second League, and the two others are playing in Montenegrin First League playoffs. The Montenegrin Second League ( Montenegrin: ''Druga crnogorska fudbalska liga'' – ''Druga CFL'' – ''2. CFL'') is the second-top football league in Montenegro. It is headed by the Football Association of Montenegro. Second Montenegrin League consists of 10 participants. The top team qualifies for the First League of Montenegro, the second and third one contest in a playoff match against the 8th and 9th team from the First League, while the bottom-placed two teams are relegated to any of the three third-tier leagues, to be replaced by the two winners of a three-way promotion playoffs, contested by the winners of the three Third League divisions. Nenad Vukčević
Nenad Vukčević (born 25 November 1974) is a Montenegrins (ethnic group), Montenegrin former Association football, football player and current manager who played as a Forward (association football), forward for clubs in FR Yugoslavia, Greece and Sweden. He was recently served as a manager of FK Podgorica. Playing career Born in Podgorica, Titograd, SR Montenegro, Vukčević began his career playing for local side FK Budućnost Podgorica. He would also play for FK Spartak Zlatibor Voda, FK Spartak Subotica, before joining Greek Superleague side Panachaiki, Panachaiki F.C. in 1999. Stadion Mitar Mićo Goliš
Stadion Mitar Mićo Goliš, formerly known as Stadion pod Malim brdom, is a football stadium in Petrovac, Montenegro. The stadium has a capacity of 1,630 seats and, from 2013, it is eligible for the UEFA international matches. History Stadium pod Malim brdom was built in 1969 with the founding of OFK Petrovac. It's situated near the coast of the Adriatic Sea, and in Montenegrin the translation of the stadium name is ''Under the Little Hill''. The stadium was reconstructed three times, in 2001, 2006 and 2013. After the last renovation, the stadium met UEFA standards. Petrovac, Budva
Petrovac ( cnr, Петровац, ) is a coastal town in Montenegro, within Budva Municipality. Petrovac is located on the coast between Budva and Bar, where the old mountain road from Podgorica reaches the coast. It has a 600 m long sandy beach and it is a popular tourist destination. Petrovac is seen as a somewhat "calmer" resort, in contrast to the lively and developed nearby towns of Budva and Sutomore. Population The 2011 census found the town's population to be 1,398. Stadion Pod Racinom
Stadion Pod Racinom is a multi-use stadium in Plav, Montenegro. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Jezero. History The first football stadium in Plav was built in 1948, when FK Jezero was founded. Until the start of the nineties, the pitch had poor infrastructure. After that, the main stand was built with an overall capacity of 6,000 standing places. New renovation came after FK Jezero gained promotion to Montenegrin First League, when capacity was reduced to 2,500 seats. Pitch and conditions The pitch measures 105 x 70 meters. The stadium meet criteria for Prva CFL games. Trivia The highest attendance was recorded on local derby FK Jezero - FK Gusinje in 1999. That game was attended by 7,000 spectators, but many of them were on a nearby hill, not on the stands. Plav ( cyrl, Плав; sq, Plavë) is a town in north-eastern Montenegro. It has a population of 3,717 (2011 census). Plav is the centre of Plav Municipality (population of 9,081 following the formation of Gusinje Municipality). Name The name ''Plav'' (Плав) is derived from Slavic ''plav'', "a flooded place" (''poplava'', "flood"). Braća Velašević Stadium is a football stadium in Danilovgrad, Montenegro. It is situated near the Zeta riverbank, it is used for football matches. The stadium is the home ground of FK Iskra. History The stadium was built after World War II, near the Zeta river, in the centre of town. Over time, it has undergone several renovations, with the most recent reconstruction completed in 2016. Danilovgrad
Danilovgrad ( cnr, Даниловград) is a town in central Montenegro. It has a population of 6,852 (2011 census). It is situated in the Danilovgrad Municipality which lies along the main route between Montenegro's two largest cities, Podgorica and Nikšić. Via villages, Danilovgrad forms part of a conurbation with Podgorica. The town of Danilovgrad is located in the fertile valley of the Zeta River, sometimes called also the Bjelopavlići plain, after the name of the local clan. Edis Mulalić (born 23 October 1975) is a Bosnian professional football manager and former player who is the manager of Bosnian Premier League club Željezničar. Stadion Tuško Polje
Stadium Tuško Polje is a football stadium in Tuzi, Podgorica, Montenegro. It is used for football matches and is the home ground of FK Dečić. History During the decades, at location Tuško Polje existed football pitch which didn't meet criteria for official games. So, FK Dečić, a football club from Tuzi, played their home games in Podgorica or Golubovci. But in 2006, a new stadium was built. The first game played at Stadium Tuško Polje was played on 19 August 2006. At second week of the 2006-07 Montenegrin First League, FK Dečić hosted Montenegrin strongest side FK Budućnost (0-3) in front of 3,000 spectators. That was a record attendance at Stadium Tuško Polje. The stadium was renovated several times, so today it has a capacity of 2,000 seats on two stands. Tuzi
Tuzi ( cnr, Tuzi/Тузи, ; sq, Tuz or ''Tuzi'') is a small town in Montenegro and the seat of Tuzi Municipality, Montenegro. It is located along a main road between the city of Podgorica and the Albanian border crossing, just a few kilometers north of Lake Skadar.
