2020–21 Idaho Vandals Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 Idaho Vandals men's basketball team represented the University of Idaho in the Big Sky Conference during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by second-year head coach Zac Claus, the Vandals played their home games on campus at Memorial Gymnasium in Moscow, Idaho. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, home games were switched to venerable Memorial Gymnasium (1928). The 2020 football season in the Big Sky was delayed until early 2021; football practice started in late January in the Kibbie Dome, and the first of six games was held in late February. This was intended to be the 46th and final season for men's basketball in the Kibbie Dome, configured as the " Cowan Spectrum" for basketball since February 2001. The university plans to open the new Idaho Central Credit Union Arena, located north of the Kibbie Dome's west end, for the 2021–22 season. Zac Claus
Zachary Arthur Claus (born November 1974) is an American basketball coach who was most recently head coach of the Idaho Vandals men's basketball team. Playing career Claus played college basketball at both Creighton and Eastern Washington. He also spent a year at Nebraska, but did not appear in any games for the team. Coaching career After his playing career, Claus began coaching first at then- NAIA Nebraska Wesleyan as an assistant coach and junior varsity head coach. He moved on to Austin College before two assistant coaching stops in Division I at Portland State and Sacramento State. In 2005, Claus joined Mark Fox's staff at Nevada, where he'd stay for the next 10 seasons under both Fox and David Carter. In that span, the Wolf Pack captured three-straight WAC regular-season titles and made three appearances in the NCAA tournament. The 2020 Big Sky Conference men's basketball tournament was the 45th postseason tournament for the Big Sky Conference, scheduled for March 11–14 at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho. The champion would have earned the Big Sky's berth in the 68-team 2020 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, COVID-19 pandemic, play was suspended prior to the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 12, and not completed; the NCAA tournament was soon cancelled. College of Southern Idaho (CSI) is a public community college in Twin Falls, Idaho. It also has off-campus programs in Jerome, Hailey, Burley and Gooding. Deer Park is a city in Spokane County, Washington. The population was 3,652 at the time of the 2010 census, up from 3,017 in 2000. Walla Walla Community College (WWCC), often referred to as just “CC” locally, is a multi-campus community college in southeastern Washington state. History Walla Walla Community College was founded in 1967 by Peter Dietrich when the region saw a need for a community college.
