The Vlaamse Aardbeiencross is a cyclo-cross race held in Hoogstraten, Belgium since 1987. It became part of the Superprestige in the 1998–1999 season. In 2020 the race moved to Merksplas Merksplas () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises only the town of Merksplas proper. Denise Betsema (born 23 January 1993) is a Dutch cyclo-cross cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Cyclo-cross team . Career In October 2018 Betsema joined the professional cyclo-cross team . In the season 2018–2019 she won the crosses at Poprad, Neerpelt, Aigle, Hittnau, Lutterbach, Wachtebeke, Koksijde, Eschenbach, Antwerpen, Otegem, Maldegem, Middelkerke, Hulst, Leuven and Oostmalle. She also won the bronze medal at the European championships. Positive drug test On 5 April 2019, it was announced that she had tested positive for the use of steroids in a drug test on 27 January 2019 during the World Cup in Hoogerheide. Thomas Pidcock (born 30 July 1999) is a British cyclist who currently competes in the cyclo-cross, mountain bike and road bicycle racing disciplines of the sport for UCI WorldTeam . After a prodigious junior and under-23 career with World Championship victories in all three of these disciplines, Pidcock turned professional in 2021. Since then his biggest victories have been the cross-country mountain biking at the 2020 Summer Olympics, the Cyclo-cross World Championships in 2022 and the prestigious spring classic, Strade Bianche in 2023.
