Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distortion (music), distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic Beat (music), beats and loudness. In 1968, three of the genre's most famous pioneers – Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple – were founded. Though they came to attract wide audiences, they were often derided by critics. Several American bands modified heavy metal into more accessible forms during the 1970s: the raw, sleazy sound and shock rock of Alice Cooper and Kiss (band), Kiss; the blues-rooted rock of Aerosmith; and the flashy guitar leads and party rock of Van Halen. Obey The Brave
Obey the Brave was a Canadian hardcore punk band From Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa, Ontario. Formed in 2012, the band features Despised Icon singer Alex Erian on vocals as well as Blind Witness bassist Miguel Lepage, guitarists John Campbell and Greg Wood, and drummer Stevie Morotti. By the middle of 2012, just over half a year after becoming a band, the metalcore act found itself signed to iconic label Good Fight, with the EP, ''Ups And Downs'', released in 2012. They signed to the label Epitaph, with the band's debut studio album, ''Young Blood'', released in August of that same year. A sophomore album, ''Salvation'', followed in 2014. Forced Entry (band)
Forced Entry is an American thrash metal band, formed in 1983 in Seattle, Washington under the name Critical Condition. The band released two studio albums, one EP and three demos before breaking up in 1995, and briefly reunited in 2002. They announced in 2020 that they were planning to reunite again for a series of shows and possibly new material. Although Forced Entry never achieved mainstream success, they are often regarded as pioneers of the Seattle thrash metal scene, along with Metal Church, Panic, Bitter End, Coven, R.I.P. and Sanctuary (whom guitarist Brad Hull would join when they reunited in 2010, but left in 2015 after just one album). Dark The Suns
Dark the Suns is a melodic dark/gothic metal band formed in 2005 in Jyväskylä, Finland. They are signed to Firebox Records. History Founded as a solo project by vocalist and guitarist Mikko Ojala in 2005, a demo was followed by the release of the full-length In Darkness Comes Beauty in 2006 once Dark the Suns became a full band. 2007 and 2008 brought local gigs, and a short Baitian mini-tour in May 2008. Some line-up changes occurred, including drummer Eino and keyboardist Pinja replacing Markus and Juha respectively. Later in the year Juha returned as a second guitarist. The second album was called ''All Ends In Silence'' and got enthusiastic reviews. The EP ''The Dead End'' was released in autumn 2008, and it features a cover of HIM's " When Love and Death Embrace". Attack Attack! (American Band)
Attack Attack! is an American metalcore band from Westerville, Ohio, originally formed in 2007 as Ambiance, later changing their name. Attack Attack!'s first release, an independent EP titled ''If Guns Are Outlawed, Can We Use Swords?'', was released in 2007, which led to the signing of the band to Rise Records the same year. They released three full-length albums, ''Someday Came Suddenly'', a self-titled album, and '' This Means War'' all through Rise Records. The band left Rise Records in 2012 and disbanded the following year after a farewell tour. On October 19, 2020, the band announced a re-formation, with a mix of returning and new members. The Amenta are an Australian Heavy metal music, metal band formed in 1997 as Crucible of Agony. By 2002 the line-up was Cesium 137 (aka Mark Bevan) on lead vocals, Diazanon (Dave Haley) on drums, Ethion (Erik Miehs) on guitar, Endrin (Nathan Jenkins) on bass guitar and Chlordane (Timothy Pope) on keyboards. In 2009 the line-up had Miehs and Pope joined by Laura Glitsos, Cain Cressall on vocals, Dan Quinlan on bass guitar and Robin Stone on drums. The group has issued three studio albums, ''Occasus'' (2004), ''n0n'' (2008), and ''Flesh Is Heir'' (2013). The group went on an indefinite hiatus in 2013, but reunited in 2020. Affiance (band)
Affiance is an American metalcore band from Cleveland, Ohio, formed in 2007. They released one EP prior to their debut album '' No Secrets Revealed'', which was released on Bullet Tooth Records in December 2010. Vocalist Dennis Tvrdik sings of political and religious issues. Unlocking The Truth
Unlocking the Truth was an American heavy metal band from Brooklyn, New York. Formed in 2007, the group consisted of Malcolm Brickhouse (guitars, vocals, key songwriter, composer), Jarad Dawkins (drums), and Alec Atkins (bass). History Founding members Malcolm Brickhouse (guitar, vocals) and Jarad Dawkins (drums), then in pre-school, met each other at a birthday party in 2005. Sharing similar tastes in music, they decided to create a band. They felt their band needed a bassist but none of their friends were musicians, so they taught their school friend Alec Atkins how to play bass from scratch. Their street performances in Times Square and around New York City led to people recording and uploading videos of them to YouTube and social media.
