2020 In Athletics (track And Field)
In 2020, the main athletic events were scheduled to be the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan, the 2020 World Athletics Indoor Championships held in Nanjing, China and the 2020 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships held in Gdynia, Poland. All three were rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic with the 2020 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships being the only event still held in 2020. Athletics At The 2020 Summer Olympics
Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics were held during the last ten days of the Games. They were due to be held from 31 July – 9 August 2020, at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the games were postponed to 2021, with the track and field events set for 30 July – 8 August. The sport of athletics at these Games was split into three distinct sets of events: track and field events, remaining in Tokyo, and road running events and racewalking events, moved to Sapporo. A total of 48 events were held, one more than in 2016, with the addition of a mixed relay event. Balkan Athletics Indoor Championships
The Balkan Athletics Indoor Championships, also known as the ''Balkan Indoor Games'' ( el, Βαλκανικοί Αγώνες Κλειστού Στίβου), is an annual international regional indoor track and field competition between athletes from the Balkans. Florentina Costina Iusco, born Marincu (born 8 April 1996 in Deva) is a Romanian track and field athlete who competes in the long jump. Iusco grew up in Deva, Romania, a city famous for gymnastics. She was interested in sports and as her physique was not suited to gymnastics she focused on athletics instead. Her international debut came at the senior level when she was aged sixteen. At the 2013 European Athletics Indoor Championships she came 17th, failing to go beyond six metres. Luiza Gega (born 5 November 1988) is an Albanian middle- and long-distance runner who specialises in the 3000 metres steeplechase since 2016. She won the silver medal in the event at the 2016 European Championships, and a gold in 2022 setting the championship record in the process.
