2020 Trophée Des Champions
The 2020 Trophée des Champions () was the 25th edition of the French super cup. The match was contested by the 2019–20 Ligue 1 champions and 2019–20 Coupe de France winners Paris Saint-Germain, and the Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille. The match marked the 99th time '' Classique'' rivals Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille played against each other and the second time in the Trophée des Champions, after their first meeting in 2010. Paris Saint-Germain were the seven-time defending champions. They won the match 2–1 for their tenth Trophée des Champions title. The match was televised live on the new French joint venture TF1-Mediapro's football channel Téléfoot and other international broadcasters throughout several countries as the part of the four-year LFP broadcasting rights package contracts. The Trophée des Champions (, ) is a French association football trophy contested in an annual match between the champions of Ligue 1 and the winners of the Coupe de France. It is equivalent to the super cups found in many other countries. History The match, with its current name, was first played in 1995, but the format in French football has existed since 1949 when the 1948–49 first division champions, Stade de Reims, defeated the winners of the 1948–49 edition of the Coupe de France, RCF Paris, 4–3 at the Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir in Colombes. Téléfoot: La Chaîne du Foot ( en, The Football Channel), also known as simply Téléfoot, was a French pay television channel owned by Mediapro. Launched on 17 August 2020, it was established as part of an agreement by Mediapro with Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) to acquire rights to Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 football beginning in the 2020-21 season. Layvin Marc Kurzawa (born 4 September 1992) is a French professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Premier League club Fulham, on loan from Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain. Abdou-Lakhad Diallo (born 4 May 1996), known as Abdou Diallo, is a professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, on loan from Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain. Marcos Aoás Corrêa (born 14 May 1994), known as Marquinhos, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain, which he captains, and the Brazil national team. The term "behind closed doors" is used in several sports, to describe matches played where spectators are not allowed in the stadium to watch.
