2020 Thomas Cup Qualification
The 2020 Thomas Cup qualification process is a series of tournaments organised by the five BWF confederations to decide 14 of the 16 teams which will play in the 2020 Thomas Cup, with Denmark qualifying automatically as hosts, and China qualifying automatically as trophy holder. Qualified teams * * * Qualification process The number of teams participating in the final tournament is 16. The allocation of slots for each confederation is the same allocation from 2016 tournament; 4 from each Asia and Europe, and 1 from each Africa, Oceania and Pan Am. Two automatic qualifiers are the host and defending champion. The remaining quota will be filled by World Team Ranking. The Rizal Memorial Coliseum is an indoor arena in the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila, Philippines. Its capacity is 6,100. The XXIV 2020 Pan Am Badminton Championships is a continental championships tournament of badminton in Pan America. This tournament were held as two events in different countries. From 13 to 16 February, the team event was held in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. From 23 to 26 April, the individual event was planned to be held in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The Badminton Pan Am (BPA) organisation is the governing body for the sport of badminton in the Americas and is recognized as such by the Badminton World Federation - BWF. It was founded as a continental governing body on February 13, 1976 in the headquarters of the Mexican Olympic Committee in Mexico City. The Pan American Badminton Confederation was founded by Badminton Canada, the Jamaica Badminton Association, Federacion Mexicana de Badminton, Comision Nacional de Badminton Peru and the United States Badminton Association. 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup
The 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup (officially known as the 2018 BWF Thomas & Uber Cup) was the 30th edition of the Thomas Cup and the 27th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF). The tournament was hosted by Bangkok, Thailand 20–27 May 2018. The matches were played at IMPACT Arena. It was the second time that Thailand hosted the Thomas Cup and the first time hosted the Uber Cup tournament and the first time this event was held in Southeast Asia since 2010 in Malaysia.
