2020 Summit League Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2020 Summit League men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Summit League for the 2019–20 season. All tournament games were played at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, from March 7–10, 2020. First-seeded North Dakota State defeated North Dakota, 89-53, to set the Summit League Tournament record for the largest margin victory in the title game. They earned the Summit League's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, but it was canceled days after NDSU won due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Seeds The top eight teams by conference record in the Summit League compete in the conference tournament. Teams are seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Denny Sanford Premier Center
The Denny Sanford Premier Center is an indoor arena in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The building is located at 1201 North West Avenue, and is connected to the Sioux Falls Arena and Sioux Falls Convention Center. The Arena's naming rights partners, and largest sponsors, are Sanford Health, First Premier Bank and Premier Bankcard. Completed in 2014, the arena has a seating capacity of approximately 12,000 spectators and replaces the DakotaDome and Rushmore Plaza Civic Center as the largest indoor venue in South Dakota. 2019–20 North Dakota Fighting Hawks Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 North Dakota Fighting Hawks men's basketball team represented the University of North Dakota in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Fighting Hawks, led by first-year head coach Paul Sather, played their home games at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota as members of the Summit League. They finished the season 15–18, 7–9 in Summit League play to finish in sixth place. They defeated South Dakota and Purdue Fort Wayne to advance to the championship game of the Summit League tournament where they lost to North Dakota State.
