2021 Nordic Darts Masters
The 2021 Viaplay Nordic Darts Masters was the inaugural staging of the tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation, and the first entry in the 2021 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured 16 players (eight PDC players and eight regional qualifiers) and was held at the Forum Copenhagen in Copenhagen, Denmark on 17–18 September 2021. Michael van Gerwen won his 16th World Series event defeating Fallon Sherrock 11–7 in the final. Van Gerwen won his first title overall in 2021, ending a 292 days streak without any tournament win. Sherrock also became the first woman to reach a televised PDC final (with the exception of the one-off 2010 PDC Women's World Darts Championship). This was the first World Series of Darts event held in Scandinavia, after the 2020 tournament had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prize money The total prize fund was £60,000. The 2022 Viaplay Nordic Darts Masters was the second staging of the tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation, and the second entry in the 2022 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured 16 players (eight 'elite' PDC players and eight regional qualifiers) and was held at the Forum Copenhagen in Copenhagen, Denmark on 10–11 June 2022. Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion after defeating Fallon Sherrock 11–7 in the 2021 final, but he lost to James Wade in the quarter-finals. Dimitri Van den Bergh won his first World Series of Darts title after defeating Gary Anderson 11–5 in the final. Prize money The total prize fund remained at £60,000. Qualifiers The PDC announced the 8 players who would be their representatives at the event on 11 April 2022, including Fallon Sherrock, who was denied her chance to appear on the 2020 World Series of Darts circuit, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2023 Viaplay Nordic Darts Masters was the third staging of the tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation, and the second entry in the 2023 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured 16 players (eight 'elite' PDC players and eight regional qualifiers) and was held at the Forum Copenhagen in Copenhagen, Denmark on 20–21 January 2023. Dimitri Van den Bergh was the defending champion, after defeating Gary Anderson 11–5 in the 2022 final. However, he lost to Gerwyn Price in the quarter-finals. Price then lost to Peter Wright in the final, with Wright winning his fourth World Series title, his first since 2019, when he won the German Darts Masters. Prize money The total prize fund remained at £60,000. Qualifiers The PDC announced 7 of their 8 players who would be their elite representatives at the event on 2 January 2023, which included Michael van Gerwen, who missed the 2023 Bahrain Darts Masters for family reasons.
