2020 Maine Republican Presidential Primary
The 2020 Maine Republican presidential primary took place on March 3, 2020, as one of 14 contests scheduled for Super Tuesday in the 2020 Republican Party presidential primaries, Republican Party primaries for the 2020 United States presidential election, 2020 presidential election. The primary was a closed primary (only open to party members) although unenrolled voters were permitted to enroll in a party at the polls with same day registration. The primary was held along with a March 2020 Maine Question 1, people's veto referendum to reject changes to Maine's vaccination laws. Results Incumbent President of the United States, President Donald Trump was the only candidate to qualify for the ballot. His 84% share of the vote was his lowest performance of any state in the primaries. Sagadahoc County ( ) is a county located in the U.S. state of Maine. As of the 2020 census, the population was 36,699. Its county seat is Bath. In geographic area, it is the smallest county in Maine. Sagadahoc County is part of the Portland– South Portland, ME Metropolitan Statistical Area. Piscataquis County is a county located in the U.S. state of Maine. As of the 2020 census, its population was 16,800, making it Maine's least-populous county. Its county seat is Dover-Foxcroft. Lincoln County is a county located in the U.S. state of Maine. As of the 2020 census, the population was 35,237. Its seat is Wiscasset. The county was founded in 1760 by the Massachusetts General Court from a portion of York County, Massachusetts and named after the English city Lincoln, the birthplace of Massachusetts Bay Provincial Governor Thomas Pownall.
