2020 Los Angeles Sparks Season
The 2020 WNBA season was the 24th season for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association. The season will tip off on July 25, 2020, versus the Phoenix Mercury. This WNBA season will feature an all-time high 36 regular-season games. However, the plan for expanded games was put on hold on April 3, when the WNBA postponed its season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under a plan approved on June 15, the league is scheduled to hold a shortened 22-game regular season at IMG Academy, without fans present, starting on July 24. The Spark's season started slowly, with the team going 3–3 in their first six games. Every win was followed by a loss during that streak. WNBA Western Conference
The Western Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is made up of six teams. From the league's second season in 1998 through 2015, the WNBA operated separate playoff brackets for its Eastern and Western Conferences. Each conference's playoff was divided into two playoff rounds, the Conference Semi-Finals and the Conference Finals, with the Conference Finals winners receiving Conference Championships and advancing to the WNBA Finals to determine the WNBA champion. In the final years of this playoff scheme, all in-conference playoff series were best-of-three. The 2020 WNBA Playoffs was the postseason tournament of the WNBA's 2020 season being played in Bradenton, Florida at the IMG Academy, known for the season as the "wubble." The Seattle Storm defeated the Las Vegas Aces three games to zero in the finals to claim the franchise's fourth WNBA title. Format Following the WNBA regular season, the top eight teams in the overall league standings, without regard to conference alignment, qualified for the playoffs and were seeded from one to eight. Tierra Ruffin-Pratt (born April 11, 1991) is a former American professional basketball player. She played for the Washington Mystics and the Los Angeles Sparks in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Marie Gülich (born 28 May 1994) is a German professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. She was drafted 12th overall by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2018 WNBA draft. The Atlanta Dream are an American professional basketball team based in Atlanta, playing in the Eastern Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Tynice Martin (born 25 March 1997) is an American basketball player. She played college basketball for West Virginia where she was a first-team All-Big 12 selection in her sophomore and junior year. She led West Virginia to the 2017 Big 12 Conference Championship while being named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
