2020 Giro Rosa
The 31st women's Giro d'Italia, or Giro Rosa, was held from 11 to 19 September 2020. It is considered the most prestigious stage race of the women's calendar and of the 2020 UCI Women's World Tour. The race was originally scheduled from 26 June to 5 July, but was postponed to mid-September due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy and reduced to 9 stages rather than the originally planned 10. Route The race consisted of 9 stages totalling , which began in Grosseto on 11 September with a team time trial and finished in Motta Montecorvino on 19 September. Teams All eight UCI Women's WorldTeams, as well as fifteen UCI Women's Continental Teams, participated in the race. Each of the twenty-three teams entered six riders, for a total of 138 riders. Team Time Trial Stage
A team is a group of individuals (human or non-human) working together to achieve their goal. As defined by Professor Leigh Thompson of the Kellogg School of Management, " team is a group of people who are interdependent with respect to information, resources, knowledge and skills and who seek to combine their efforts to achieve a common goal". Stage 5
Stage 5 (or, originally, "Stage V") is an unofficial stage at the Walnut Valley Festival, an annual bluegrass festival in Winfield, Kansas, United States. Set up in the Pecan Grove campground, the informal stage began in 1987 when camper Russell Brace and friends built it on the back of a 1954 Chevrolet 4100 1-1/2 ton flatbed truck. The stage is so-named because the festival proper has four main stages. The stage was immediately popular and is now a cherished tradition at the annual event. Audiences at Stage 5 can usually expect to hear typical acoustic string instruments. However, many musicians, while there, part from traditional bluegrass styles and emphasize a looser, more rock-oriented interpretation of roots music. Several notables have played Stage 5. Santa Fiora is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Grosseto, in the Italian region of Tuscany, located about southeast of Florence and about east of Grosseto. Annemiek van Vleuten (born 8 October 1982) is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Van Vleuten is a two-time winner of both the road race (2019 and 2022) and the time trial (2017 and 2018) at the UCI Road World Championships. Arcidosso
Arcidosso is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Grosseto in the Italian region of Tuscany, located about south of Florence and about northeast of Grosseto and near the town of Montalcino. History The first certain documentation of the existence of the settlement of Arcidosso is from the year 860, when it is said to belong to the Abbey of San Salvatore.
