2020 ESPY Awards
The 2020 ESPY Awards were presented at the 28th annual ESPY Awards show, held on June 21, 2020 and broadcast on television nationwide in the United States on ESPN at 9 PM Eastern/8 PM Central. Sue Bird, Megan Rapinoe and Russell Wilson served as hosts. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the event was hosted remotely. Instead of presenting traditional awards for athletic achievement during the event, awards were presented to honor extraordinary acts of activism and humanitarian efforts. Suzanne Brigit Bird (born October 16, 1980) is an American former professional basketball player who played her entire career with the Seattle Storm of the Women's National Basketball Association ( WNBA) Bird was drafted by the Storm first overall in the 2002 WNBA draft and is considered to be one of the greatest players in WNBA history. As of 2021, Bird is the only WNBA player to win titles in three different decades. She held a front office position for the NBA's Denver Nuggets as their Basketball Operations Associate. She has also played for three teams in Russia. She holds both U.S. and Israeli citizenship. Jason McCourty
Jason McCourty (born August 13, 1987) is a former American football cornerback who played 13 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the sixth round, 203rd overall, in the 2009 NFL Draft, he also played for the Cleveland Browns, the New England Patriots, and the Miami Dolphins. In a rare feat, McCourty went from playing for an 0-16 team one year (the 2017 Browns), to winning a Super Bowl the following season ( LIII with the 2018 Patriots). He played college football at Rutgers. He primarily played cornerback throughout his first eleven NFL seasons, but became the starting free safety for the Miami Dolphins in 2021. The Peach Bowl is an annual college football bowl game played in Atlanta, Georgia since December 1968. Since 1997, it has been sponsored by Chick-fil-A and is officially known as the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. From 2006 to 2013, it was officially referred to as simply the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
