2020 Connecticut Sun Season
The 2020 WNBA season was the 22nd season for the Connecticut Sun franchise of the Women's National Basketball Association. It will also be the 18th season for the franchise in Connecticut. The season tipped off on July 26, 2020, versus the Minnesota Lynx. This WNBA season was originally going to feature an all-time high 36 regular-season games. However, the plan for expanded games was put on hold on April 3, when the WNBA postponed its season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under a plan approved on June 15, the league held a shortened 22-game regular season at IMG Academy, without fans present, which started on July 24. The Sun's season started slowly when the team lost its first five games. They recovered to win four of their next five and were 4–7 at the season's halfway mark. Curt Miller
Curt Miller (born October 6, 1968) is an American basketball coach, currently the head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association, WNBA. He previously served as the head coach of the Connecticut Sun from 2016-2022 and Bowling Green State University from 2001–2012 and Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana University from 2012–2014, and spent one season as an assistant to Brian Agler with the Los Angeles Sparks. Assistant coaching career Miller served as an assistant coach at Colorado State University, Colorado State, helping the school to an 81-20 (.802) overall record during his three seasons there. The Minnesota Lynx are an American professional basketball team based in Minneapolis, playing in the Western Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team won the WNBA title in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017. Kaleena Jordan Mosqueda-Lewis (born Kaleena Jordan Lewis, November 3, 1993) is an American professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. Prior to enrolling at the University of Connecticut she played for Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. She played on the USA Basketball U16 National Team, where she helped the team win the FIBA Americas U16 Championship Gold Medal. Bria Holmes (born April 19, 1994) is an American professional basketball player who is a free agent in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was drafted with the eleventh overall pick in the 2016 WNBA draft. Holmes was the fifth player to be drafted from West Virginia. Natisha Hiedeman (born February 10, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Connecticut Sun of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
