2020 CS Nebelhorn Trophy
The 2020 CS Nebelhorn Trophy was held in September 2020 in Oberstdorf, Germany. It was part of the 2020–21 ISU Challenger Series. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. On August 25, 2020, the German Ice Skating Union confirmed that Nebelhorn Trophy would be held as scheduled, but without spectators and would include extensive social distancing guidelines and procedures for the athletes and coaches in attendance. Originally scheduled as the fourth event in the 2020–21 Challenger Series, Nebelhorn Trophy became the first to officially proceed as scheduled, after cancellations and postponements of the preceding events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Filipino ladies' singles skater Alisson Krystle Perticheto, whose hometown is in Switzerland, was the only skater on the preliminary entry lists to represent a non-European nation. ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The ISU Challenger Series Synchronized Skating is a separate competition series in the discipline of synchronized skating. History The ISU Council decided to create the series at its February 2014 meeting. Eleven competitions were selected in June 2014. The Triglav Trophy dropped out by October 10, 2014, resulting in a series composed of ten events. Ice Dance
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. According to the International Skating Union (ISU), the governing body of figure skating, an ice dance team consists of one woman and one man. Ice dance, like pairs skating, pair skating, has its roots in the "combined skating" developed in the 19th century by skating clubs and organizations and in recreational social skating. Mihhail Selevko
Mihhail Selevko (born 20 November 2002) is an Estonian figure skater. He is the 2019 Tallinn Trophy champion, the 2022 Challenge Cup silver medalist, and a two-time Estonian national champion (2019, 2023). He has competed in the final segment at two ISU Championships. Personal life Selevko was born on 20 November 2002, in Tallinn, Estonia to Ukrainian immigrants Galina and Anatoli Selevko. His mother is an accountant, and his father is a computer programmer. Aleksandr Selevko
Aleksandr Selevko (born 23 May 2001) is an Estonian figure skater. He is the 2017 Egna Spring Trophy bronze medalist, the 2019 Nordics bronze medalist, and a three-time Estonian national champion (2020–22). He has competed in the final segment at five ISU Championships – two World Junior Championships (2016, 2020), two European Championships (2019, 2020) and once at World Figure Skating Championships (2021). He is the older brother of Mihhail Selevko, who also represents Estonia internationally in figure skating. Career At the 2021 World Championships, Selevko placed 24th in the short program, 15th in the free skate, and 16th overall. Maia Sørensen (born 11 August 2004) is a retired Danish figure skater. She is a two-time Danish national champion. Sørensen has represented Denmark at three ISU Championships — the 2022 European Championships, 2019 World Junior Championships and 2020 World Junior Championships. Martin Bidař (born 24 February 1999) is a Czech pair skater, who currently competes with Jelizaveta Žuková. They are two-time Czech national champions (2020–2021) and represented the Czech Republic at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Stefanie Pesendorfer (born 31 August 2003) is an Austrian figure skater. She is the 2019 Tirnavia Ice Cup champion, the 2019 Prague Ice Cup champion, and the 2022 Austrian champion.
