2020 African Badminton Championships
The 2020 African Badminton Championships (officially known as All Africa Individual Championships 2020) is the continental badminton championships to crown the best players across Africa. The tournament is being held at the Cairo Stadium Hall 2 in Cairo, Egypt, from 14 to 16 February 2020. Cairo Stadium Indoor Halls Complex
Cairo Stadium Indoor Halls Complex ( ar, مجمع الصالات المغطاة باستاد القاهرة الدولي), built in 1991, consists of four multi-use indoor sporting arenas located near the Cairo International Stadium in Cairo, Egypt. The seating capacity of The Main Hall (also known as The Covered Hall), which is primarily used for sports, is 16,900 spectators. Construction The complex was completed in September 1991. In 2016, the halls were equipped with an LED lighting system. Events The Main Hall is used for events like badminton, basketball, handball, volleyball, international conferences, parties, and trade fairs. It was built in time for the 1991 All-Africa Games. Badminton World Federation
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations (Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales). BWF World Ranking
The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. It is used to determine the qualification for the World Championships and Summer Olympic Games, as well as BWF World Tour tournaments. Seedings of draws at all BWF-sanctioned tournaments are conducted using the BWF World Ranking. Players under 19 years of age are eligible to rank in the BWF World Junior Ranking, which were introduced in January 2011. Linda Mazri
Linda Mazri ( ar, ليندا مازري; born 21 December 2001) is an Algerian badminton player. She is the gold medalist in African Games and African Championships. Career Mazri started representing Algeria at an early age of 13 and competed for the first time with the national team in the Serbian Under-15 International Championship, and at that time won two bronze medals in the singles and women's doubles competitions. Mazri also represented her country in the African Under-15 Championship hosted by Egypt and won the bronze medal in the singles category and the silver in the mixed doubles.
