2020 24 Hours Of Spa
The 2020 24 Hours of Spa (also known as Total 24 Hours of Spa for sponsorship reasons) was the 72nd running of the 24 Hours of Spa. It took place on 22–25 October 2020. Although it was previously scheduled to held on 25–26 July, it was announced on 15 April that the race would be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Background The 72nd running of the 24 Hours of Spa took place on 22–25 October 2020. It was previously scheduled to held on 25–26 July, but in March the race was postponed to October due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be the first time that the race will be held in October. The race was set to be unique as it would run for a 25 hours duration due to the race being held on the weekend when the clocks change. However, this idea was pulled when it became clear that the event was not permitted to allow spectators to the race. Spa-Francorchamps
The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (), frequently referred to as ''Spa'', is a motor-racing circuit located in Stavelot, Belgium. It is the current venue of the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix, hosting its first Grand Prix in 1925, and has held a Grand Prix every year since 1985 (except 2003 and 2006). Spa also hosts several other international events including the 24 Hours of Spa, the World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. It is also home to the Uniroyal Fun Cup 25 Hours of Spa, one of the longest motor races in the world. The circuit has undergone several redesigns through its history, most extensively in 1979 when the track was modified and shortened from a circuit using public roads to a permanent circuit due to safety concerns with the old circuit. Kelvin van der Linde (born 20 June 1996) is a South African racing driver currently competing as a substitute driver in Formula E with the ABT Team. He made his GT Masters debut in 2014, also winning the championship that year, a feat he repeated in 2019. He won the 2017 24 Hours of Nürburgring. The Ferrari 488 (Type F142M) is a mid-engine sports car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Ferrari. Alessandro Pier Guidi (born December 18, 1983) is a racing driver from Italy. He drove two races for the Italian A1 Team. A Ferrari factory driver since 2017, he won LMGTE-PRO 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship and 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans, and 2021 24 Hours of Spa. Thomas Preining (born 21 July 1998) is an Austrian racing driver who is the 2018 German Porsche Carrera Cup champion. Career Formula 4 Preining's first season in single seaters was in 2015 with German team ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg where he competed at the first two rounds in the ADAC Formula 4 Championship where he got a podium in only his third race at this level at Oschersleben. Preining finished the season with 16 points. Preining competed in another F4 championship in 2015 where he raced at the first round in the Italian F4 Championship at Vallelunga with German team Mücke Motorsport. His best finish was 10th.
