2019–20 Women's Euro Hockey Tour
The 2019–20 Women’s Euro Hockey Tour was the second season of the six-team Women's Euro Hockey Tour (EHT) format, originally implemented in the 2018–19 season. It was played over four tournaments: a four nation tournament in Finland, a five nation tournament in Russia, a four nation tournament in Germany, and concluded with a six nation tournament in Sweden. The women’s national teams from the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Japan, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland participated in at least one tournament; Finland was the only national team to participate in all four tournaments. The boycott staged by the players of the Swedish women's national team (''Damkronorna'') against the Swedish Ice Hockey Association (SIF) concerning, among other issues, player treatment and team conditions, necessitated adjustments in two of the EHT tournaments in the 2019–20 season. Petra Nieminen
Petra Nieminen (born 4 May 1999) is a Finnish ice hockey player and alternate captain of the Finnish national team, currently playing in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) with Luleå HF/MSSK. She is considered one of the top young talents in Finnish ice hockey. Playing career Nieminen's minor ice hockey career was played with the junior teams of Tappara in her hometown of Tampere. She played on boys' teams during her childhood and into her teen years, playing on the same youth team as future NHLer Patrik Laine. Beginning when she was 13, she intermittently played with the Tappara representative women's team in the Naisten Mestis and Naisten Suomi-sarja, the second-and third-tier women’s senior leagues in Finland. Swedish Ice Hockey Association
The Swedish Ice Hockey Association ( sv, Svenska Ishockeyförbundet (SIF)) in Swedish, is an association of Swedish ice hockey clubs. It was established in Stockholm on 17 November 1922 by representatives from seven clubs. Before then, organized ice hockey in Sweden had been administered by the Swedish Football Association. In 1920, Sweden became a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). In addition to ice hockey, SIF is also responsible for inline hockey. is a professional Japanese ice hockey player for Vortex Sapporo and the Japanese national team. Fujimoto was previously a starting goaltender for the New York Riveters of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). Career Fujimoto participated at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship and was named best goalkeeper of the tournament. Fujimoto was signed by the New York Riveters of the National Women's Hockey League on 27 July 2015. The Finnish Ice Hockey Association ( fi, Suomen Jääkiekkoliitto, sv, Finlands Ishockeyförbund) is the governing body of ice hockey in Finland. In sport, a whitewash or sweep is a series in which a person or team wins every game. Usage by sport Baseball In Major League Baseball, teams typically play multiple games against each other; if one team wins all the games in that series, it is considered a "series sweep", or, more commonly, simply a "sweep". International Ice Hockey Federation
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. Rules of play for IIHF events differ from hockey in North America and the rules of the National Hockey League (NHL). Decisions of the IIHF can be appealed through the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland. The IIHF maintains its own hall of fame for international ice hockey.
