2019–20 Stal Stalowa Wola Season
The 2019–20 season was Stal Stalowa Wola's tenth consecutive season in II liga since relegation from 2009–10 I liga, I liga in 2010. In addition to the domestic league, Stal participated in this season's edition of the 2019–20 Polish Cup, Polish Cup. The season was slated to cover a period from 27 July 2019 to 30 May 2020. It was extended extraordinarily beyond 30 June due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland. In the end, Stal got relegated to III liga in spite of seven wins in the league at the last season's eleven games. The bad start and last matchday's defeat at Pogoń Siedlce confirmed the relegation. Stal Stalowa Wola Piłkarska Spółka Akcyjna, commonly referred to as Stal Stalowa Wola (), is a Polish professional football club based in Stalowa Wola, Subcarpathian Voivodeship. Founded in 1938, the club competes in the III liga, group IV, the fourth division of Polish football. Stal's greatest success are 12th place in the 1993–94 Ekstraklasa, 1990–91 I liga championship and the quarter-final of the 1991–92 Polish Cup. It is the fourth best team in the history of the I liga, second professional association football division. The 2019–20 Polish Cup was the sixty-sixth season of the annual Polish football knockout tournament. It began on 7 August 2019 with the first matches of the preliminary round and ended with the final at Arena Lublin. 2009–10 I Liga
The 2009–10 I liga was the 62nd season of Sports league, the second tier domestic division in the Polish football league system since its establishment in 1949 and the 2nd season of the I liga, Polish I liga under its current title. The league was operated by the Polish Football Association (PZPN). The league is contested by 18 teams who competing for promotion to the 2010–11 Ekstraklasa. The regular season was played in a round-robin tournament. The champions and runners-up would receive promotion. Unlike in previous seasons the third-placed team no longer had the opportunity to compete in playoffs for promotion, while the 13th and 14th placed teams no longer had to compete in play-outs to remain in the I liga. The bottom four teams were automatically demoted to the II liga. The season began on 1 August 2009, and concluded on 9 June 2010.
