2019–20 Slovak First Football League
The 2019–20 Slovak First Football League (known as the Slovak Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons) was the 27th season of first-tier football league in Slovakia since its establishment in 1993. Slovan Bratislava were the defending champions and successfully defended their title, winning their record-extending 10th Slovak title. Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic Since March, the season was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. On 7 March, the 22nd and last round of the regular stage took place. Both the championship group and the relegation group were subsequently supposed to have 10 rounds starting on 14 March. However, the season was interrupted until the end of May. On 22 May, the league committee approved the restart of the competition with a new 5-round model starting on 13 June. Slovak First Football League
The Slovak Super Liga is the top level football league in Slovakia, currently known as the Fortuna Liga due to a sponsorship arrangement. It was formed in 1993 following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia. The record for most titles is eleven, held by Slovan Bratislava, who are the current title holders. FC Spartak Trnava () is a Slovak professional football club based in Trnava. Historically, it is one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won the Czechoslovak First League five times and the Czechoslovak Cup on four occasions, and reaching the semi-final of the European Cup once and the quarter-final twice. Mestský štadión Žiar Nad Hronom
Mestský štadión Žiar nad Hronom is a multi-use stadium in Žiar nad Hronom, Slovakia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Fortuna liga team FK Pohronie. The stadium holds 2,309 people. In 1989 and 1999 it has hosted the final match of Slovak Cup. Reconstruction In 2016 began reconstruction of the stadium. MOL Aréna
MOL Aréna is a football stadium in Dunajská Streda, Slovakia. It is the home ground of a local club FC DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda and has an all-seated capacity of 12,700 people. The intensity of the floodlighting is 1,800 lux. History The stadium was opened in 1953. The main stand was built in the first half of the 1980s and was inaugurated for the 1985 Spartakiad. The capacity was 16,410 spectators. The stadium underwent reconstruction in 2008, when DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda started to play in Corgoň Liga. UEFA Elite Stadium
UEFA stadium categories are categories for football stadiums laid out in UEFA's Stadium Infrastructure Regulations. Using these regulations, stadiums are rated as category one, two, three, or four (renamed from elite) in ascending ranking order. Štadión pod Dubňom is an all-seater football stadium situated in Žilina, Slovakia, which is the home of MŠK Žilina. It is named after the hill ''Dubeň'', adjacent to which it is located, and the name of the stadium literally means "Stadium under the Dubeň Hill." FK Železiarne Podbrezová () is a Slovakia, Slovak football (soccer), football team, based in the town of Podbrezová. History Podbrezová was formed in 1920 as RTJ Podbrezová.
