2019–20 Scarlets Season
The 2019–20 season is the 16th season in the history of the Scarlets, a Welsh regional rugby union side based in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. In this season, they will compete in the Pro14 and, after failing to qualify for the European Rugby Champions Cup, Champions Cup for the first time in their history, the European Rugby Challenge Cup, Challenge Cup. It will be the team's first season under head coach Brad Mooar, who will be assisted by defence coach Glenn Delaney and assistant attack coach Richard Whiffin, after Wayne Pivac departed to take charge of the Wales national rugby union team, Wales national team. On 12 March 2020, the season was indefinitely suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The regular season resumed on 22 August 2020, with the number of rounds reduced from 21 to 15 and any games postponed prior to the indefinite suspension of the season being deemed as 0–0 draws and both teams awarded two points. Wayne Pivac
Wayne Pivac (born 1962) is a New Zealand rugby union coach. In November 2019 he replaced Warren Gatland as the Wales national team coach. A former sworn officer in the New Zealand Police, he was a constable at the Takapuna police station on Auckland's North Shore. He played his early rugby at Rosmini College and then Westlake Boys High School. Pivac played senior rugby for both the Northcote and Takapuna rugby clubs. Pivac played for North Harbour Rugby Union while he was a policeman. A recurring knee injury forced Pivac to retire from playing rugby at the age of 28. In 2012 Pivac was named at flanker in the Westlake Boys High school 50 year anniversary greatest First XV. Tomi Lewis
Tomi Lewis (born 17 January 1999) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays for the Scarlets as a fullback or wing. Lewis has represented Wales 7s and Wales U20, most recently in the 2019 U20 Six Nations. Professional career Lewis attended Llandovery College, and played for their rugby team, while part of the Scarlets academy. in 2017, Lewis was selected for Wales U18 on their tour to South Africa. Lewis was selected for Wales U20 for the 2018 Six Nations Under 20s Championship. He was again selected for the tournament in 2019, as well as for the 2019 World Rugby Under 20 Championship, scoring three tries. In addition to representing Wales at U18 and U20 levels, Lewis has represented Wales Sevens at numerous events, making his debut in 2017 at age 18, on the Dubai leg, scoring seven tries. Corey Baldwin
Corey Baldwin (born 13 October 1998) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays for Dragons as a winger/centre. Professional career Baldwin made his senior debut in 2016 for Llandovery against Bedwas as a replacement. Just a month later, he made his debut for the Scarlets, scoring a try in the Anglo-Welsh Cup game against the Newport Gwent Dragons. In 2017, Baldwin was named in the Wales U20 squad for the first time. Dragons RFC ( cy, Dreigiau) are one of the four professional rugby union regional teams in Wales. They are owned by the Welsh Rugby Union and play their home games at Rodney Parade, Newport and at other grounds around the region. They play in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup/European Rugby Challenge Cup. Angus O'Brien (born 17 September 1994) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays Dragons RFC. He can play as outside half and fullback. O'Brien is a Wales under-20 international. Tom Prydie (born 23 February 1992) is a Welsh rugby union player. Steffan Hughes (born 17 February 1994) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays for Dragons RFC as a centre. Hughes previously played for the Scarlets regional team. Tom James (born 17 April 1987 in Rhymney) is a Welsh former professional rugby union player. James represented Wales and spent most of his career with Cardiff Blues Club career After turning to rugby from athletics, he joined Merthyr RFC on the wing.
