2019–20 Saudi Professional League
The 2019–20 Saudi Professional League was the 44th edition of the Saudi Professional League, the top Saudi professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1976–77 Saudi Premier League, 1976. The season started on 22 August 2019 and concluded on 9 September 2020. Al-Nassr FC, Al-Nassr were the defending champions. The league was contested by the top 13 teams from the 2018–19 Saudi Professional League, 2018–19 season as well as Abha Club, Abha, Damac F.C., Damac, and Al-Adalah FC, Al-Adalah, who joined as the three promoted clubs from the 2018–19 Prince Mohammad bin Salman League. They replace Ohod Club, Ohod, Al-Batin F.C., Al-Batin and Al-Qadsiah FC, Al-Qadsiah who were relegated to the 2019–20 Prince Mohammad bin Salman League. The Saudi Pro League (SPL for short) ( ar, دوري المحترفين السعودي, link=no, ''Dawriyy al-Muḥtarifayni as-Suʿūdī''), known as the Roshn Saudi League (RSL for short) for sponsorship reasons, is the top division of association football in the Saudi Arabian league system. The season began on 17 October 2020 as a consequence of the postponement of the previous season's conclusion due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fixtures for the 2020–21 season were announced on 29 September 2020. Al-Hilal are the defending champions after winning the Pro League for the 16th time last season. Al-Ain, Al-Batin, and Al-Qadsiah join as the three promoted clubs from the 2019–20 MS League. They replace Al-Adalah, Al-Fayha, and Al-Hazem who were relegated to the 2020–21 MS League. Al-Shabab FC (Riyadh)
Al-Shabab Football Club ( ar, نادي الشباب), or The Youth Football Club, in English, is a Saudi Arabian professional football club based in Riyadh. It was founded in 1947, and was at first named ''Shabab Al Riyadh''. (), meaning Riyadhi Youth, but in 1967 was renamed ''Al Shabab''. History Al Shabab was the First football club in Riyadh. The club began before 1947, with many conflicts before with its numerous members, but it was settled in 1947 and Abdulrahman Bin Saeed was the president. Five years later, Al Shabab won its first tournament beating Sakit Al Hadeed (Railway Club) in Riyadh. Three years later, in 1955 Al Shabab beat the Military College to win the King Saud Cup. Al Raed Saudi Football Club ( ''Nādī ar-Rāʾid'', "Pioneer Club") is a Saudi football club based in Buraidah, and the first of its kind in the Qassim region of Saudi Arabia. The 2019–20 Prince Mohammad bin Salman League was the 3rd season of the Prince Mohammad bin Salman League under its current name, and 43rd season of the Saudi First Division since its establishment in 1976. Al-Qadsiah Football Club ( ar, نادي القادسية) is a Saudi Arabian professional football club that competes in the Saudi First Division League. They are based in Khobar and their home ground is the Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium. Ohod Club () is a Saudi Arabian professional football club based in Medina, which competes in the First Division League, the second tier of Saudi football. Ohod was named after Mount Uhud, hence the nickname "Al-Jabal". Ohod have won the Saudi First Division three times and have finished runners-up five times. They play their home games at the Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Stadium. The 2018–19 Prince Mohammad bin Salman League was the 2nd season of the Prince Mohammad bin Salman League under its current name, and 42nd season of the Saudi First Division since its establishment in 1976. The season started on 28 August 2018 and concluded on 15 May 2019. Fixtures for the 2018–19 season were announced on 25 July 2018. The first team to be promoted was Abha, following their 2–2 draw away to Al-Nojoom on 30 April 2019. Despite losing to Al-Qaisumah, Abha were crowned champions on 11 May 2019 following Damac's 1–1 draw with Al-Ain.
