2019–20 Rice Owls Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Rice Owls men's basketball team represented Rice University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Owls, led by third-year head coach Scott Pera, played their home games at Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston, Houston, Texas as members of Conference USA. They finished the season 15–17, 7–11 in C-USA play to finish in 12th place. They lost in the first round of the 2020 Conference USA men's basketball tournament, C-USA tournament to 2019–20 FIU Panthers men's basketball team, FIU. Scott Pera
Scott Pera (born August 27, 1967) is an American college basketball coach and current head coach for the Rice Owls men's basketball team. Coaching career Pera started his coaching career at Elizabethtown College in 1992, before embarking on a high school coaching career in Pennsylvania and California, most notably Artesia High School (California), Artesia High School, where he coached James Harden. In his high school coaching career, Pera compiled a 258–65 record. In the college ranks, Pera joined Herb Sendek's staff at Arizona State Sun Devils men's basketball, Arizona State, where he began as the director of basketball operations before being elevated to assistant coach. From 2012 to 2014, Pera was an assistant coach at Penn Quakers men's basketball, Penn under Jerome Allen (basketball), Jerome Allen. The Harvard Crimson men's basketball program represents intercollegiate men's basketball at Harvard University. Bishop Denis J. O'Connell High School (also known as DJO) is a Roman Catholic college preparatory school founded in 1957 in Arlington County, Virginia. Santa Monica High School
Santa Monica High School, officially abbreviated to SaMoHi, is located in Santa Monica, California. Founded in 1891, it changed location several times in its early years before settling into its present campus at 601 Pico Boulevard. It is a part of the Santa Monica–Malibu Unified School District. History In 1891, the Union High School Law was passed in Santa Monica, thereby establishing a four-year high school for the city. The first graduating class graduated in 1894. The "new" campus opened in 1912 with one building, the current History Building, with an enrollment of 50 students.
