2019–20 Ranji Trophy Plate Group
The 2019–20 Ranji Trophy was the 86th season of the Ranji Trophy, the first-class cricket tournament that took place in India. It was contested by 38 teams, divided into four groups, with ten teams in the Plate Group. The group stage ran from 9 December 2019 to 15 February 2020. The top team in the Plate Group progressed to the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy#Quarter-finals, quarter-finals of the competition. In January 2020, in the round six fixture between Meghalaya cricket team, Meghalaya and Manipur cricket team, Manipur, Manipur were bowled out for only 27 runs in their first innings. On 12 February 2020, the fixture between Chandigarh cricket team, Chandigarh and Manipur cricket team, Manipur was the 60,000th first-class cricket match to be played. In the final round of matches, Goa cricket team, Goa qualified from the Plate Group, after beating Mizoram cricket team, Mizoram inside two days. Board Of Control For Cricket In India
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the national governing body for cricket in India. Its headquarters are situated at Cricket centre, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The BCCI is the richest governing body of cricket in the world and is part of the ''Big Three'' of international cricket, along with Cricket Australia and the England and Wales Cricket Board. The board was formed in and is a consortium of List of members of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, state cricket associations. The state associations select their own representatives who in turn elect the BCCI president. R. E. Grant Govan, Grant Govan was the first BCCI president and Anthony De Mello was its first secretary. It joined the International Cricket Council, Imperial Cricket Conference in the year 1926.
