2019–20 Primera Nacional
The 2019–20 Argentine Primera B Nacional, also known as the 2019–20 Primera Nacional, was the 35th season of the Primera B Nacional, the second tier of Argentine football. The season began on 15 August 2019 and was scheduled to end in May 2020. Thirty-two teams compete in the league, twenty-one returning from the 2018–19 season, four teams that were relegated from Primera División, two teams promoted from Federal A and five from B Metropolitana. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Argentine Football Association suspended the tournament on 17 March 2020. On 28 April 2020 AFA announced the abandonment of the competition as well as the culmination of the 2019–20 season in all of its leagues, with no clubs promoted or relegated. AFA also announced that a decision on a suitable method for promotion from the Primera Nacional and lower tiers would be reached in due time. Primera B Nacional
Primera Nacional (usually called simply Nacional B, in English "National B Division", and known as Primera B Nacional until the 2019–20 season) is the second division of the Argentine football league system. The competition is made up of 37 teams. It is played by teams from all over the country. Clubs from Buenos Aires surroundings, as well as some from Santa Fe Province, are promoted from or relegated to the Primera B Metropolitana ("Metropolitan B Division") while for teams from the other provinces the Torneo Federal A ("Federal A Tournament") is the next level down. In Argentine football, Nacional B is the second-highest league, and from it, the three best teams are automatically promoted to Primera División. Gimnasia Y Esgrima De Mendoza
Club Atlético Gimnasia y Esgrima (usually known as Gimnasia y Esgrima de Mendoza) is an Argentine football club located in the city of Mendoza. They currently plays in the Primera B Nacional, the second division of the Argentine football league system. History The club was founded in 1890 as "Club de Esgrima" (Fencing Club) with Dr. Carlos Ponce as its first president. In 1893 a group of members came up with new ideas, proposing to encourage the practice of other sports, mainly basque pelota. Therefore, the club was renamed "Club de Pelota". In 1894 the club leaders acquired a land in Mendoza. In 1902, several departments were created, including the football section. For that purpose the club asked the Government of Mendoza a land in Parque General San Martín, which gave 5 hectares. Barracas Central
Club Atlético Barracas Central is an Argentine football club from the district of Barracas, Buenos Aires. Established in 1904, Barracas Central will return to the Primera División, the top level of the Argentine football league system, in the 2022 season after the team won the Torneo Reducido. History Foundation and early years Felipe Cámpora, a truck driver, founded Club Atlético Barracas Central on 5 April 1904 under the name "Barracas Central del Sud". Cámpora carried out the project and became the first president of the entity. Club Almagro is an Argentine sports club from José Ingenieros, Buenos Aires, although its headquarters are in the Almagro district. Club Villa Dálmine is an Argentine football club from Campana, Buenos Aires Province. The team currently plays in Primera B Nacional, the second level of the Argentine football league system. Due to a financial crisis, the club was named "Club Atlético Campana" between 1993 and February 2000, after which it reassumed its original and current name.
