The 2019–20 season was Nottingham Forest's 154th year in existence and 12th consecutive season in the EFL Championship. In addition to the Championship, the club participated in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. The season covered the period between 1 July 2019 and 22 July 2020. First team squad New contracts Pre-season Forest announced a pre-season schedule of friendlies against Alfreton Town, Dundee, Atromitos, Olympiacos, Crystal Palace and Real Sociedad. The first team were relieved of friendlies arranged against Peterborough United, Mansfield Town and Lincoln City following the appointment of Sabri Lamouchi as head coach on 28 June 2019. The English Football League Championship (often referred to as the Championship for short or the Sky Bet Championship for sponsorship purposes) is the highest division of the English Football League (EFL) and second-highest overall in the English football league system, after the Premier League. The league is contested by 24 clubs. Introduced for the 2004–05 season as the Football League Championship the division was previously known as the Football League Second Division ( 1892– 1992) and Football League First Division ( 1992– 2004). Michael Dawson (footballer)
Michael Richard Dawson (born 18 November 1983) is an English former professional footballer who played as a centre back. Dawson started his career at Nottingham Forest playing alongside veteran defender Des Walker before moving to Tottenham Hotspur with teammate Andy Reid for a fee of £8 million. While at Tottenham, Dawson won the League Cup in 2008. His form in the 2009–10 season saw him included in England's preliminary 2010 FIFA World Cup squad. Although he initially failed to make the final 23-man squad, an injury to captain Rio Ferdinand saw him drafted in as replacement. In August 2014, Hull City signed Dawson from Tottenham for a fee believed to be £3.5 million. Carl Daniel Jenkinson (born 8 February 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Newcastle Jets in the Australian A-League. Jenkinson began his career with Charlton Athletic before joining Arsenal in 2011. Tobias Pereira Figueiredo (born 2 February 1994) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a central defender for EFL Championship club Hull City.
