2019–20 National Cricket League
The 2019–20 National Cricket League was the twenty-first edition of the National Cricket League (NCL), a first-class cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. The tournament started on 10 October 2019, with eight teams placed into two tiers. The matches were used as the national team's preparation for their Test series against India in November 2019. Rajshahi Division were the defending champions. On 5 November 2019, Abdur Razzak took his 600th first-class wicket, becoming the first Bangladeshi bowler to reach the milestone. On 18 November 2019, Shahadat Hossain of Dhaka Division was withdrawn mid-way through the match with Khulna Division, after he physically assaulted teammate Arafat Sunny. Shahadat initially faced a ban from cricket of up to one year. However, he was given a five-year ban, with two years suspended for the incident. The Bangladesh Cricket board ( bn, বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড; abbreviated as BCB) is the governing body of cricket in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Cricket Board first became an associate member of the International Cricket Council in 1977 and on June 26, 2000 became a Full Member. BCB have three International Cricket teams which represent Bangladesh in international cricket, which are Bangladesh Men's national cricket team, Bangladesh women's national cricket team and Bangladesh under-19 cricket team. Chittagong Division Cricket Team
Chottogram Division cricket team represents the Chittagong Division, one of the seven administrative regions in Bangladesh. The team was founded in 1999 to compete in the National Cricket League (NCL) and plays first-class cricket. For the short-lived National Cricket League Twenty20 in 2010, the team adopted the name Cyclones of Chittagong (often abbreviated as CC). The equivalent team in the Bangladesh Premier League is the Chittagong Vikings (qv), replacing the Chittagong Kings. Chittagong Division play most of their home games at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZAC) in the port city of Chittagong. The ZAC has superseded the older M. A. In the sport of cricket, a declaration occurs when a captain declares his team's innings closed and a forfeiture occurs when a captain chooses to forfeit an innings without batting. Declaration and forfeiture are covered in Law 15 of the ''Laws of Cricket''. This concept applies only to matches in which each team is scheduled to bat in two innings; Law 15 specifically does not apply in any form of limited overs cricket. Masudur Rahman (born 13 April 1975) is a Bangladeshi international cricket umpire and former first-class cricketer. A right-handed batsman and off-break bowler, he made his first-class debut for Dhaka Metropolis in 2000/01 and played for Barisal Division in 2001/02 and Dhaka Division from 2003/04 to 2004/05. Tanvir Ahmed (born 3 October 1972) is a Bangladeshi cricket umpire. Umpiring career Tanvir Ahmed umpired his first List A match in Bangladesh in 2005–06, and his first first-class match in 2007–08. Fatullah ( bn, ফতুল্লা) (also known as Fatulla) is a town and a Union in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila in Narayanganj District. It is located on the southern outskirts of Dhaka, in central Bangladesh. Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium ( bn, খান সাহেব ওসমান আলী স্টেডিয়াম) is a cricket stadium located in Fatullah, Narayanganj in central Bangladesh. Mushfiqur Rahim ( bn, মুশফিকুর রহিম; born 9 May 1987) is a Bangladeshi cricketer and the former captain and vice-captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team.
