2019–20 Momentum One Day Cup
The 2019–20 Momentum One Day Cup was a domestic one-day cricket tournament that took place in South Africa. It was the 39th edition of the championship, with the tournament originally scheduled to run from 31 January to 21 March 2020. Titans were the defending champions. Following the conclusion of the group stage, Dolphins, Lions, Warriors and Knights had qualified for the semi-finals. However, on 16 March 2020, Cricket South Africa suspended all cricket in the country for 60 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 24 March 2020, Dolphins were named as the winners of the tournament, following the recommendations of Graeme Smith, the acting Director of Cricket. Cricket South Africa
Cricket South Africa (CSA) is the governing body for both professional and amateur cricket in South Africa. In 1991, the separate South African Cricket Union and the South African Cricket Board merged to form the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB), ending enforced racial separation governance in South African cricket. Cricket South Africa was formed in 2002, and initially ran parallel to the UCB, before becoming the sole governing body in 2008. Titans (cricket Team)
The Titans (known as the Multiply Titans for sponsorship reasons) are the northernmost top-level cricket franchise in South Africa. Its member unions are the Eastern Cricket Union and Northerns Cricket Union. The home venues of the Titans are SuperSport Park, Centurion and Willowmoore Park, Benoni. The Titans play in the Sunfoil Series first class competition (where they were the 2015-16 champions), the Momentum One Day Cup, and Ram Slam T20 Challenge. Kingsmead Cricket Ground
Kingsmead is a cricket ground in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Its stated capacity is 25,000, although grass terracing makes up part of the viewing area. The 'end names' are the Umgeni End (north) and the Old Fort Road End (south). It is the home ground of the KwaZulu-Natal Dolphins. In October 2019, Hollywoodbets was announced as the naming rights sponsor to the ground, with it now being known as Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium until August 2024. Imran Tahir
Mohammad Imran Tahir ( pa, ; born 27 March 1979) is a South African former international cricketer. A spin bowler who predominantly bowls googlies and a right-handed batsman, Tahir played for South Africa in all three forms of cricket, but preferred the Twenty20 International matches. On 15 June 2016, Tahir became the first South African bowler to take seven wickets in an ODI, and also the fastest South African to reach 100 ODI wickets (58 matches). Wandile Makwetu (born 7 January 1999) is a South African cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Northerns Districts in the 2017–18 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup on 1 March 2018. Prior to his first-class debut, he was named in South Africa's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Prenelan Subrayen (born 23 September 1993) is a South African cricketer who made his debut in November 2011. In August 2017, he was named in Durban Heat's squad for the first season of the T20 Global League. However, in October 2017, Cricket South Africa initially postponed the tournament until November 2018, with it being cancelled soon after. In September 2019, he was named in the squad for the Durban Heat team for the 2019 Mzansi Super League tournament. Centurion, Gauteng
Centurion (previously known as Verwoerdburg and before that Lyttelton) is an area with 236,580 inhabitants (2011 census) in the Gauteng Province of South Africa, between Pretoria and Midrand (Johannesburg). Centurion Park is a cricket ground in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa. It is also known as SuperSport Park since television company Supersport bought shares in the stadium. The capacity of the ground is 22,000. The Titans cricket team have played most of their home games here since 2004.
