2019–20 Liverpool F.C. Women Season
The 2019–20 Liverpool F.C. Women season was the club's 31st season of competitive football and its 10th season in the FA Women's Super League, the highest level of the football pyramid, having been one of the league's foundation clubs. Along with competing in the WSL, the club also contested two domestic cup competitions: the FA Cup and the League Cup. On 13 March 2020, in line with the FA's response to the coronavirus pandemic, it was announced the season was temporarily suspended until at least 3 April 2020. After further postponements, the season was ultimately ended prematurely on 25 May 2020 with immediate effect. Liverpool sat bottom of the table at the time and were relegated on sporting merit after The FA Board's decision to award places on a points-per-game basis. FA Women's Cup
The Women's FA Challenge Cup Competition is the top annual cup tournament for women's clubs in English football. Founded in 1970, it has been named the WFA Cup, FA Women's Cup and now Women's FA Cup (Vitality Women's FA Cup for sponsorship reasons). Designed as an equivalent to the FA Cup in men's football, the competition began in 1970–71 as the Mitre Challenge Trophy, organised by the Women's Football Association (WFA). There were 71 entrants, including teams from Scotland and Wales. The WFA ran the competition for the first 23 editions, during which time Southampton Women's won the cup eight times. Melissa Lawley (born 28 April 1994) is an English football midfielder who plays for Barclays WSL club Liverpool. She has previously played for Bristol Academy, Birmingham City and Manchester City. Lawley has represented England at the under-17, under-19, under-20, under-23 and senior levels. Christie Murray
Christie Murray (born 3 May 1990) is a Scottish footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder and captains Birmingham City in the FA WSL. She has also played for Arsenal, Bristol Academy, and Doncaster Rovers Belles of the FA WSL, as well as Celtic and Glasgow City of the Scottish Women's Premier League. Jade Helen Bailey (born 11 November 1995) is an English-born Jamaican professional footballer who plays as a defender and a midfielder. Jessica Anne Clarke (born 5 May 1989) is an English footballer who plays as a winger or forward for FA Women's Championship club Durham and the England national team. After beginning her career with hometown team Leeds United (known as Leeds Carnegie between 2008 and 2010), Clarke joined Lincoln Ladies in 2010 and remained with the club when it re-branded as Notts County four years later. Niamh Fahey (born 13 October 1987) is an Irish footballer who plays as a defender or midfielder for Liverpool in the Women's Super League and the Republic of Ireland women's national football team. Rhiannon Beth "Razza" Roberts (born 30 August 1990) is a professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Spanish Liga F club Real Betis. Leighanne Robe (born 26 December 1993) is an English professional football defender who plays for Saudi Premier League club Al-Ittihad. Club career Robe joined a boys' football team as a seven-year-old, represented Cambridge City girls, and progressed to playing for Arsenal's youth system.
