2019–20 Liga IV Sibiu
The 2019–20 Liga IV Sibiu was the 52nd season of the Liga IV Sibiu, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 7 September 2019 and was scheduled to end in June 2020, but was suspended in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania. AJF Sibiu (County Football Association) announced that a promotion play-off tournament between the first 3 ranked teams will be played to decide the county champion and the team that will qualify for the promotion play-off to Liga III. After Avrig decided to withdraw, the season was ended on 26 July after a play-off match between Măgura Cisnădie and Păltiniș Rășinari. Liga IV Sibiu
Liga IV Sibiu is the county football division of Liga IV for clubs based in Sibiu County, România. The competition is ranked as the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system and it is competed between 17 teams, the winner may or may not be promoted to Liga III, depending on the result of a promotion play-off that is disputed against a winner of the neighboring counties series. History In 1968, along with the territorial reorganization of the country, but also due to the large number of requests, the Romanian Football Federation proposes a competitive system in which each county has its own football championship, which will activate the former teams in the regional championship as well as the racing and town championship teams from the previous edition. Liga V
Liga V is the fifth level of the Romanian football league system. Current format Liga V has 42 divisions. The divisions are regionalised and are organised by every county association. Each team plays in their own county. The county associations decide how many teams play in the league and how many matches each side plays. In Romania the most frequently used system is one division with matches played home and away. A number of associations prefer 2 or even 3 parallel divisions. Liga Suporterilor Sibieni Voința Sibiu, commonly known as LSS Voința Sibiu, or simply as Voința Sibiu, is a Romanian football club from Sibiu, Sibiu County, founded in 2013 as a fan-owned phoenix club of the dissolved CSU Voința Sibiu. The club also has a women's football section. History CSU Voința continued the football tradition in Sibiu after the dissolution of FC Sibiu and FC Inter Sibiu. The club promoted from the Liga IV to the Liga I in just three seasons. However CSU Voința relegated after only one season of top football, finishing 16th in the table, with 32 points. After only 11 rounds played in the 2012–13 Liga II Voința withdrew from the championship, because of immense debts. A phoenix club was immediately created.
