2019–20 Liga IV Mehedinți
The 2019–20 Liga IV Mehedinți was the 52nd season of the Liga IV Mehedinți, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 31 August 2019 and was scheduled to end in June 2020, but was suspended in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania. The season was concluded officially on 23 July 2020 when AJF Mehedinți decided to freeze the championship and declare the team ranked first, Recolta Dănceu, county champion. Because Recolta Dănceu does not have C.I.S.(Certificate of sports identity) issued by the Ministry of Youth and Sports required to play in Liga III, Strehaia was designated as the representative of Mehedinți County at the promotion play-off. Liga IV Mehedinți is the regional Liga IV football division for clubs in Mehedinți County, România, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. It is organized by the County Football Association (Asociația Județeană de Fotbal) and is competed amongst 12 teams, the winner is promoted to Liga III after a promotion play-off. History In 1968, along with the territorial reorganization of the country, but also due to the large number of requests, Romanian Football Federation, FRF proposes a competitive system in which each county has its own football championship, which will activate the former teams in the regional championship as well as the racing and town championship teams from the previous edition. Promotion The champions of each county association play one another in a play-off to promote to the Liga III. Geographical criteria are taken into consideration when the play-offs are drawn. The 2019–20 Liga IV Timiș was the 52nd season of the Liga IV Timiș, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 10 August 2019 and was scheduled to end in June 2020, but was suspended in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania. The season was ended officially on 17 July 2020 after AJF Timiș (County Football Association) concluding that the teams could not meet the medical conditions for matches at this level and decided to "freeze" the Liga 4 championship. The season began on 17 August 2019 and was scheduled to end in June 2020, but was suspended in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania. The season was ended officially on 14 July 2020 after AJF Hunedoara (County Football Association) concluding that the teams could not meet the medical conditions for matches at this level. Jiul Petroșani was crowned as county champion. Competition format The 12 teams will play a regular season, followed by a play-off and play-out. The regular season is a double round-robin tournament. At the end of the regular season, the first six teams will play a championship play-off and the last five teams will play a relegation play-out.
