2019–20 Liga IV Călărași
The 2019–20 Liga IV Călărași was the 39th season of the Liga IV Călărași, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 3 August 2019 and was scheduled to end in June 2020, but was suspended in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania. On 4 July 2020, AJF Călărași (County Football Association) declared CS Venus Independența, Venus Independența the county champion. But not being eligible for promotion, it was decided to organize a play-off between the 2nd and 3rd place to establish the team that will represent Călărași County at the 2019–20 Liga IV, promotion play-off to Liga III. Following the withdrawal of 2nd ranked team, AFC Unirea Mânăstirea, Unirea Mânăstirea, the team ranked 3rd, CSM Oltenița, Oltenița, was qualify for promotion play-off. Liga IV Călărași is the county football division of Liga IV for clubs based in Călărași County, România. The competition is ranked as the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system and it is competed between 18 teams, the winner may or may not be promoted to Liga III, depending on the result of a promotion play-off that is disputed against a winner of the neighboring counties series. History In 1968, along with the territorial reorganization of the country, but also due to the large number of requests, the Romanian Football Federation proposes a competitive system in which each county has its own football championship, which will activate the former teams in the regional championship as well as the racing and town championship teams from the previous edition. Asociația Club Sportiv Mostiștea Ulmu, commonly known as Mostiștea Ulmu, or simply as Ulmu, is a Romanian football club based in Ulmu, Călărași County. Founded in 2005 as ''Phoenix Ulmu'', the club situated on the banks of Mostiștea Lake reached the third tier on four occasions, a 2nd place being their best ranking. Mostiștea is currently playing in the Liga III. History Mostiștea Ulmu was founded in 2005 as ''Phoenix Ulmu'' and promoted for the first time in the Liga III after only one season. Distributed in the second series, Phoenix was ranked only 17th out of 18 and relegated back to Liga IV.
