2019–20 LEN Champions League
The 2019–20 LEN Champions League was the 57th edition of LEN's premier competition for men's water polo clubs. The season started on 30 September 2019 and played its last games on 4 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Teams Schedule The schedule of the competition is as follows. Qualifying rounds Qualification round I Group A Group B Qualification round II Group A Group B Group C Group D Qualification round III Preliminary round The draw for the 2019–20 LEN Champions League preliminary round has been conducted in Barcelona. In the regular season, teams will play against each other home-and-away in a round-robin format. The top four teams in group A and the top three teams in group B will advance to the Final 8. LEN Champions League
The LEN Champions League is the top-tier European professional water polo club competition with teams from up to 18 countries. It is organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation. The competition started in 1963 as European Cup. A change of name and format occurred in 1996, with the competition being renamed Champions League and the final four system being established as the format of choice, for the first time during the 1996–97 LEN Champions League. From 2003 to 2011 the competition was named LEN Euroleague (with the change of name being simply a re-branding) and from 2011 and on LEN Champions League, its current name. LEN Champions League is the most popular water polo league in the European continent. It has been won by 24 clubs, 10 of which have won the title more than once. Wasserfreunde Spandau 04
The Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 is a swimming club in Spandau, Berlin, Germany. The club is known for the water polo team, which has won a record number of German championships with 37, as well as German Cups (31) and Super Cups (17). In European tournaments the team has won 4 LEN Champions Leagues and 2 LEN Super Cup titles. The club has over 3,500 members. The word ''Wasserfreunde'' is German for "Water Friends". Vaterpolski klub Jug ( en, Jug Water Polo Club) is a professional water polo club based in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The club was established in 1923 as part of sports society "JUG". As of the 2021–22 season, VK Jug competes in the Croatian League, Regional League A1 and LEN Champions League. NO Vouliagmeni or "NOV" (Greek: Ναυτικός Όμιλος Βουλιαγμένης, "NOB" = Nautical Club of Vouliagmeni) is a major aquatic sports club, founded by local sportsmen in 1937 in the seaside resort of Vouliagmeni, Athens, Greece. The club is located on the eastern edge of the Mikro Kavouri peninsula, adjacent to the Astir Palace Hotel and overlooking the bay, town and lake of Vouliagmeni. Orvosegyetem Sport Club is a Hungarian water polo club from Budapest established in 1957 in the Semmelweis University. The club's peak was the 1970s. Orvosegyetem won six national championships in a row between 1969 and 1974, and in 1973 it won the European Cup, beating 4-times champion Partizan Belgrade in the final. In 1974 and 1975 also reached the European Cup's final, but lost to MGU Moscow and Partizan respectively. In 1976 it played its fourth European final, losing the Cup Winners' Cup to Mladost Zagreb. In 1978 and 1979 the team culminated its golden era winning its seventh national championship and its second European Cup.
