2019–20 FK Sarajevo Season
The 2019–20 season was Sarajevo's 71st season in existence, and their 26th consecutive season in the top flight of Bosnian football, the Premier League of BiH. Besides competing in the Premier League, the team also competed in the National Cup. Sarajevo competed in the qualifications for the UEFA Champions League, as well as competing in the qualifications for the UEFA Europa League. The season covers the period from 14 June 2019 to 1 June 2020. In that season, the league ended abruptly on 1 June 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Bosnia and Herzegovina and by default Sarajevo won their second consecutive league title as the first placed team, also qualifying to the 2020–21 UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds as well. FK Sarajevo
Fudbalski klub Sarajevo (; English: Sarajevo Football Club) is a professional football club based in Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is one of the most successful clubs in the country. Founded on 24 October 1946, FK Sarajevo was the most successful club from SR Bosnia and Herzegovina in the former SFR Yugoslavia, winning two Yugoslav First League titles, finishing runners-up on two other occasions and placing 6th in that competition's all-time table. Halid Šabanović
Halid Šabanović (; born 22 August 1999) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Ligue 1 club Angers. Šabanović started his professional career at Sarajevo, who loaned him to Mladost Doboj Kakanj in 2021. In 2022, he joined Angers. Club career Sarajevo Šabanović started playing football at a local club, before joining youth academy of his hometown club Sarajevo in 2016. Selmir Pidro (; born 3 March 1998) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Major League Soccer club St. Louis City and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. 2020–21 UEFA Champions League
The 2020–21 UEFA Champions League was the 66th season of Europe's premier club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 29th season since it was renamed from the European Champion Clubs' Cup to the UEFA Champions League. COVID-19 Pandemic In Bosnia And Herzegovina
The COVID-19 pandemic in Bosnia and Herzegovina is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 () caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (). The virus was confirmed to have reached Bosnia and Herzegovina on 5 March 2020, when a patient in Banja Luka, who had travelled to Italy, tested positive. Later on the same day, a second case, who was the son of the first case, was reported. On 21 March, the first death in the country from COVID-19 was announced in a hospital in Bihać.
