2019–20 Czech National Football League
The 2019–20 Czech National Football League (known as the ''Fortuna národní liga'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 27th season of the Czech Republic's second tier football league. Fixtures for the season were announced on 19 June 2019. Pardubice won the competition, while relegation was confirmed for Sokolov and Vítkovice. Třinec returned positive COVID-19 tests in June 2020, resulting in an enforced 14-day quarantine for their team and the postponement of three of their matches. Their home match against Vlašim, which Třinec lost on 17 July 2020, was subsequently played three days after the rest of the league had finished. Czech National Football League
The Czech National Football League ( cs, Fotbalová národní liga, ''FNL''), currently known as Fortuna národní liga due to sponsorship reasons, is the second level professional association football league in the Czech Republic. Before 2013 it was known as 2. liga or Druhá liga. The top two teams each season are eligible for promotion to the Czech First League. The league replaced the I.ČNL (I. Česká národní liga; First Czech National League), which had been established following the end of the nationwide Czechoslovak Second League in 1977. The league became known as simply ''II. liga'' (Second League) in 1993 following the establishment of the Czech Republic as an independent state. Structure There are 16 clubs in the FNL. 2019–20 Czech First League
The 2019–20 Czech First League, known as the Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons, was the 27th season of the Czech Republic's top-tier football league. The defending champions were Slavia Prague, who won their fifth Czech title in previous season. This season was the second one with a new league structure in which 16 clubs play each other home and away, until the league is split up in championship, Europa League and relegation groups. Baník Sokolov
''Baník'' is a Slovak word meaning "miner". Since the 1950s it has been part of the name of various sports clubs in Czechoslovakia associated mostly with coal mining regions. FK Viktoria Žižkov
FK Viktoria Žižkov is one of the oldest football clubs in the Czech Republic, from Žižkov (since 1922 part of Prague). It plays in the Bohemian Football League, the third tier of football in the country. The club won the Czechoslovak First League title in the 1927–28 season. FK Ústí nad Labem is a Czech football club based in the city of Ústí nad Labem. Currently the club plays in the Bohemian Football League. MFK Chrudim
MFK Chrudim is a Czech football club located in Chrudim. It plays in the Czech National Football League, which is in the second tier of the Czech Republic football league system. History The club played in the fourth level of football in 1994–1998, in the third level in 1998–2004 and again in fourth level in 2004–2011. Moravian–Silesian Football League
The Moravian-Silesian Football League (MSFL) ( cs, Moravskoslezská fotbalová liga) is one of the third level football leagues in the Czech Republic (the other is the Bohemian Football League) headquartered in Olomouc. The league comprises teams from the historic regions of Moravia and Silesia and partially also Bohemia. The league was formed in 1991 during the Czechoslovakia era, replacing the former ''II.ČNL'' (II. Česká národni liga; Second Czech National League) at the third tier of Czechoslovak football alongside sister league ČFL. The winner of MSFL is promoted to the Czech National Football League. FK Dukla Prague ( cs, FK Dukla Praha) is a Czech association football club located in the Dejvice area of Prague. It currently plays in the Czech National Football League.
