2019–20 Bulgarian Cup
The 2019−20 Bulgarian Cup was the 38th official edition of the Bulgarian annual football knockout tournament. The competition began on 4 September 2019 with the preliminary round and finished with the final on 1 July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Bulgaria. Lokomotiv Plovdiv successfully defended the cup by winning on penalties against CSKA Sofia and qualified for the first qualifying round of the 2020–21 UEFA Europa League. Participating clubs The following 46 teams qualified for the competition: Matches Preliminary round The draw was conducted on 23 August 2019. The games will be played between 4 and 6 September 2019. In this stage participated 15 winners from the regional amateur competitions and 14 non-reserve teams from Second League. During the draw, Botev Ihtiman received a bye to the first round. PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv
PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv ( bg, ПФК Локомотив Пловдив), commonly known as Loko Plovdiv, is a Bulgarian professional football club based in Plovdiv. Lokomotiv's home ground is the Lokomotiv Stadium which is situated in Lauta Park and has a capacity of 14,000 spectators. Founded on 25 July 1926, Lokomotiv is one of the most popular teams in Bulgaria and currently competes in the top-flight First League, which they have won once (in 2004). Lokomotiv Plovdiv has won also 2 Bulgarian Cups, 2 Bulgarian Supercups and 1 Cup of the Soviet Army. The biggest success of the club in Europe is reaching the third round of the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1965, after narrowly losing to the Italian Juventus in a play-off match. Botev ( bg, Ботев) is a Bulgarian professional association football, football club based in Vratsa, that competes in the First Professional Football League (Bulgaria), First League, the top division of Bulgarian football. The club was founded in 1921. Since 1948, Botev have played their home games at Stadion Hristo Botev (Vratsa), Stadion Hristo Botev. It is situated in the Hristo Botev sport complex, in the east part of Vratsa. The stadium originally had 25 000 seats. FC Kariana Erden ( bg, ФК Кариана Ерден) is a Bulgarian football club based in Erden, that plays in A Regional League, the 4th level of Bulgarian football. History 2014–2020: Milan Yosifov Era They become champions in 2015, winning the Bulgarian A Regional Group and promoting to V Group. For the 2015-16 season, the team got a new sport complex. They finished 5th in their first season in V Group, later known as Third League from 2016. FC Hebar ( bg, Футболен клуб Хебър) is a Bulgarian association Association football, football club based in Pazardzhik. The club currently competes in the First Professional Football League (Bulgaria), First League, the first tier of the Bulgarian football league system. Founded in 1918, Hebar hss played at their current home ground, Georgi Benkovski Stadium, since 1989. Chernomorets ( bg, Черноморец) is a Bulgarian football club based in Balchik, that competes in the North-East Third League, the third tier of Bulgarian football. The team plays its home games at the local Balchik Stadium with 3,200 seats. History Chernomorets were founded as Sport Club Strela in late 1918 by English and Italian soldiers after World War I. The team finally became known as Chernomorets in 1957. In its history, Chernomorets has played mainly in the Bulgarian amateurs divisions. Until the 1976/77 season, the team participated at most in the third Bulgarian division, but gained a promotion to the B Group for the 1977/78 season. Botev ( bg, Ботев) is a Bulgarian football club based in Galabovo, Stara Zagora Province. The club last played in the Second League, the second division of Bulgarian football, having been promoted as champions of the South-Eastern V Group in 2012–13. The club was founded in 1945. Botev's home ground is the Energetik Stadium, a 3,000 all-seater stadium. At the end of the 1969–70 season, Botev reached the second tier of Bulgarian football for the first time in their history. FC Vitosha ( bg, ФК Витоша) is a Bulgarian association football club based in Bistritsa, Sofia City Province, which competes in the Second League, the second tier of Bulgarian football. It is named after the Vitosha mountain range, where Bistritsa is located. Vitosha was founded in 1958, however, the club spent the majority of its history playing in lower leagues.
