2019–20 Basketligaen
The 2019–20 Basketligaen is the 45th season of the highest professional basketball tier in Denmark. The season started on 22 September 2019 and was scheduled to end on 13 May 2020. On 17 March 2020, the season was ended prematurely because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the standings at that time, the Bakken Bears were named Danish champions, defending its title. Competition format Teams were divided into two groups: Pro A, joined by the best five teams in the previous season, and Pro B, the rest of the teams. Each team was scheduled to play four times against each other team in their group, and twice with teams from the other group. The five teams of Pro A and the best three of Pro B qualified for playoffs. Teams Amager joined the league after an absence of nine years. Ryan Evans of the Bears was named the season's Most Valuable Player. Each team would play against each other of their same league four times, while only twice with teams from the other side. The five teams of Pro A and the best three of Pro B qualified for playoffs. Teams After the end of the season, Hørsholm 79ers resigned to its place in the league. EBAA and Værløse joined the league. Nørrebrohallen
Nørrebrohallen (English: the hall of Nørrebro) is a Danish sports complex in Nørrebro, Copenhagen. It was formerly known as Nørrebro Remise (English: Nørrebro Roundhouse) because it worked as a roundhouse for the now-defunct Copenhagen Tram until 1972 when all tram activities stopped. The Basketligaen ( en, The Basketball League) is the highest professional basketball league in Denmark. The original men's first division was founded in 1957 and the current league was founded in 1998. All-time record holder in league titles is Bakken Bears, which has captured 18 titles in its history. BMS is the only team with 5 titles in a row, starting in 1986 through 1990. The main TV partner of the league is Sport Live. The league consists of 10 teams, with no relegation rules. Playoffs
The playoffs, play-offs, postseason or finals of a sports league are a competition played after the regular season by the top competitors to determine the league champion or a similar accolade. 2020–21 Basketball Champions League
The 2020–21 Basketball Champions League was the 5th season of the Basketball Champions League (BCL), the premier European-wide professional basketball competition for clubs launched and managed by FIBA. The season began on 15 September 2020 and ended on 9 May 2021. San Pablo Burgos won its second consecutive championship, after defeating Pınar Karşıyaka in the final in Nizhny Novgorod. Værløse
Værløse () is a town in Furesø Municipality in the northwestern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. As of 1 January 2022, it has a population of 13,069. Situated on the west side of the Hillerød Motorway, between Farum Lake to the north and Søndersø Lake to the south, it is surrounded by forest on three sides. Næstved () is a town in the municipality of the same name, located in the southern part of the island of Zealand in Denmark.
