2019–20 Azerbaijan Premier League
The 2019–20 Azerbaijan Premier League was the 28th season of the Azerbaijan Premier League with Qarabağ being the defending champions. The season began on 16 August 2019, before being prematurely ended on 19 June 2020. Season events On 13 March 2020, the Azerbaijan Premier League was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 19 June 2020, the AFFA announced that the Azerbaijan Premier League was officially ended without the resumption of the remains matches due to the escalating situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in Azerbaijan. As a result Qarabağ were crowned champions for the seventh season in a row, whilst also qualifying for the 2020–21 UEFA Champions League, with Neftçi, Keşla and Sumgayit qualifying for the 2020–21 UEFA Europa League. Azerbaijan Premier League
The Azerbaijan Premier League ( az, Azərbaycan Premyer Liqası) is a professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Azerbaijan football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. It is contested by 10 clubs. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 36 matches each (playing each team in the league four times, twice at home and twice away). The Premier League champion secures the right to play in UEFA Champions League first qualifying round. The runner up and the 3rd place winner secure right to play in UEFA Europa Conference League starting in second qualifying round. Since 1992, a total of 8 clubs have been crowned champions of the Azerbaijani football system. The Azerbaijan Premier League was first organized in 2007 and succeeded the Top Division ( az, Yüksək Liqa), which existed from 1992 to 2007. 2020–21 UEFA Europa League
The 2020–21 UEFA Europa League was the 50th season of Europe's secondary club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 12th season since it was renamed from the UEFA Cup to the UEFA Europa League. Villarreal defeated Manchester United in the final, played at the Stadion Miejski in Gdańsk, Poland, 11–10 on penalties following a 1–1 draw after extra time, winning the competition for the first time in club history. Villarreal thus automatically qualified for the 2021–22 UEFA Champions League group stage and earned the right to play in the 2021 UEFA Super Cup. Bayil Arena ( az, Bayıl Arena) is a stadium in Bayil, Baku, Azerbaijan. It was opened in 2012 and has a capacity of 3,200 spectators. The stadium is owned and operated by AFFA. Sabail Raion
Sabail raion ( az, Səbail rayonu) is a raion of Baku, located on the Caspian shore. It contains the Old town of Baku and the Baku Boulevard as well as the settlements Badamdar and Bibiheybət, the administrative territorial divisions no. 1 and no. 2, the municipalities of Badamdar, Bibiheybət and Sabail, and is bordered by the raions of Nasimi, Yasamal and Garadagh. Keşlə (; Кешлә, کشله; also Keshly, Keshlya, Kəşlə, Keşlä, Kešlæ, Kishly, Kishlya, Kishty, Kişli and Kitly) is a settlement and municipality in Baku, Azerbaijan. It has a population of 25,626.
