2019–20 AFC Wimbledon Season
The 2019–20 season was the fourth in League One, the third tier of the English football league system, for AFC Wimbledon since their promotion in 2016 from League Two. Along with competing in League One, the Kingston upon Thames-based club participated in three cup competitions, the FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy, failing to progress past the first stage of any of them. AFC Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon is an English professional football club, based in Merton, London, that plays in the EFL League Two, after being relegated from the EFL League One following the 2021–22 season. The club's home stadium is Plough Lane. The club was founded in 2002 by former supporters of Wimbledon F.C. after the Football Association allowed that club to relocate to Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, about north of Wimbledon. Most of the Wimbledon F.C. supporters were very strongly opposed to moving the club so far away from Wimbledon, feeling that a club transplanted to a distant location would no longer represent Wimbledon or the club's historic legacy and tradition. Wimbledon F.C. moved in 2003 and formally changed the name of the club to Milton Keynes Dons in 2004. EFL League One
The English Football League One (often referred to as League One for short or Sky Bet League One for sponsorship purposes, and known as the Football League One from 2004 until 2016) is the second-highest division of the English Football League and the third tier overall in the entire English football league system. League One debuted for the 2004–05 season. It was previously known briefly as the Football League Second Division and for much longer, before the advent of the Premier League, as the Football League Third Division. Scott Andrew Wagstaff (born 31 March 1990) is an English footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Tonbridge Angels. Early life Wagstaff was born in Maidstone, and attended Bennett Memorial Diocesan School in Tunbridge Wells. Career Charlton Athletic Wagstaff joined Charlton Athletic at the age of 8 after being spotted at a Charlton Athletic Community course. . Terell Mondasia Thomas (born 18 October 1995) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender. He is currently a free agent. Born in England, he plays for the Saint Lucia national team. Thomas started at Arsenal before signing his first professional contract in June 2015 with Charlton Athletic. He went on to enjoy two loan spells at National League side Woking. William John Robert Nightingale (born 2 August 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for club AFC Wimbledon. Career Nightingale was born in Wandsworth, Greater London. He joined the AFC Wimbledon Academy at the age of nine, progressing through the ranks before making the step up to the first team at the age of 18. Rodney Troy McDonald (born 11 April 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Crewe Alexandra. Career Stoke City McDonald joined Stoke City's academy from Manchester City's academy in 2005. He became a regular in the club's youth and reserves side but was released in the summer of 2010. Nathan Wallace Newman Trott (born 21 November 1998) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Danish club Vejle Boldklub, on loan from West Ham United. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football.
