2019 Hong Kong Sevens
The 2019 Hong Kong Sevens was a rugby sevens tournament that took place at the Hong Kong Stadium between the 5–7 April 2019. It was the 44th edition of the Hong Kong Sevens, and the seventh tournament of the 2018–19 World Rugby Sevens Series. Sixteen teams competed in the main tournament, while a further twelve competed in a qualifier tournament with the winner getting core team status for the 2019–20 World Rugby Sevens Series. After securing three wins from three in their "pool of death", Fiji became the first team to win five consecutive Hong Kong titles after they defeated France 21–7. The United States came in third after losing to Fiji in the semi final before dispatching Samoa (who lost to France) in the third place playoff by 12 points. In the Challenge Trophy, Scotland defeated Japan by two points with Gavin Lowe scoring the match winning try for Scotland. The 2019 Japan Women's Sevens was the fourth tournament within the 2018–19 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series and the third edition of the Japan Women's Sevens. It was held over the weekend of 20–21 April 2019 at Mikuni World Stadium Kitakyushu. Format The teams are drawn into three pools of four teams each. Each team plays every other team in their pool once. The top two teams from each pool advance to the Cup brackets while the top 2 third place teams also compete in the Cup/Plate. It was held over the weekend of 1–3 February 2019 at Spotless Stadium in Sydney, with former venue Allianz Stadium closed for rebuilding. It was run alongside the men's tournament. Infinity Park
Infinity Park is a stadium in the Denver enclave of Glendale, Colorado, and was formerly the unofficial home venue of the United States national rugby union team. The stadium has a seating capacity of 5,000 people. It opened in 2007, at a cost of $22.5 million. It is the first rugby-specific, municipally-owned stadium in the United States. Infinity Park is the venue for several domestic rugby union teams. The field is home to the Glendale Merlins, a Division I men's rugby team that have won the national championship, and of the Denver Barbarians. The stadium also hosts the Women's Premier League's Glendale Lady Merlins. The defunct Denver Stampede of the defunct PRO Rugby played at the stadium between April and May 2016 as did the Merlins' professional offshoot Colorado Raptors who played in Major League Rugby between 2018 and 2020. The 2018–19 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series was the seventh edition of the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series, global circuit for women's national rugby sevens teams, organised by World Rugby. There were six tournament events scheduled on the 2018–19 circuit with twelve teams competing in each tournament. The series also, for the second time, doubled as an Rugby sevens at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's tournament, Olympic qualifier. Stade Jean-Bouin (Paris)
The Stade Jean-Bouin (; ) is a multi-purpose stadium in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, France. The 20,000 capacity facility is located across the street from the much larger Parc des Princes, and is used mostly for rugby union and association football matches. It is the home stadium of Stade Français and FC Versailles. History The stadium was opened in 1925, and is named after the athlete Jean Bouin, the 5000 metre silver medalist from 1912 Olympics.
