Gymnastics
Gymnastics is a type of sport that includes physical exercises requiring balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, dedication and endurance. The movements involved in gymnastics contribute to the development of the arms, legs, shoulders, back, chest, and abdominal muscle groups. Gymnastics evolved from exercises used by the ancient Greeks that included skills for mounting and dismounting a horse, and from circus performance skills. The most common form of competitive gymnastics is artistic gymnastics (AG), which consists of, for women (WAG), the events floor, vault, uneven bars, and beam; and for men (MAG), the events floor, vault, rings, pommel horse, parallel bars, and horizontal bar. Epke Zonderland
Epke Jan Zonderland (born 16 April 1986) is a Dutch artistic gymnast and the 2012 Olympic gold medallist on high bar. He is a 4-time Olympian (2008–20) and has also taken 3 World Championships golds on high bar at the 2013, 2014 and 2018 World Championships, the first man to secure this feat on that apparatus. He is nicknamed "The Flying Dutchman.” Early life Zonderland was born on 16 April 1986 in Lemmer, Netherlands. He started gymnastics at the age of four. Yang Hak-seon
Yang Hak-seon ( ; born 6 December 1992) is a South Korean artistic gymnast who specialises in the vault. He is the first South Korean gymnast to win an Olympic gold medal. Personal life According to his Olympic profile, Yang started his gymnastics career at the age of 9, following his brother's footsteps. Yang is currently attending the Korea National Sport University. Yang's parents are Yang Gwan-gwon and Ki Suk-hyang. Jade Ashtyn Carey (born May 27, 2000) is an American artistic gymnast who represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Artem Dolgopyat
Artem Olegovich Dolgopyat ( he, ארטיום אולגוביץ' דולגופיאט; ukr, Артем Олегович Долгопят; born 16 June 1997) is a Ukrainian-born Israeli artistic gymnast. He is the 2020 Olympic champion on floor exercise. He also won two silver medals at the 2017 and 2019 World Championships on the floor exercise, and is the 2020 European champion of that exercise. Dolgopyat is a floor exercise specialist and is noted for executing a triple back on that exercise. In 2022, he won the gold medal for his floor exercise at the European Gymnastics Championships in Tokyo Biography Artem Dolgopyat was born in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro), Ukraine. Leanne Ashley Wong (born September 20, 2003) is an American artistic gymnast. She was a member of the gold medal winning teams at the 2022 World Championships and the 2019 Pan American Games. She is the 2021 World all-around silver medalist, floor exercise bronze medalist, and was an alternate for the 2020 Olympic team. Yul Kyung-Tae Moldauer (born August 26, 1996) is an American artistic gymnast. He is the 2017 U.S. national all-around champion and the 2017 World bronze medalist on floor exercise. Fan Yilin (; born 11 November 1999) is a Chinese artistic gymnast and uneven bars specialist. She is a two-time world champion on the uneven bars (2015, 2017) and the 2015 Asian champion on balance beam. At the 2015 World Championships, she was part of the first ever four-way tie along with Viktoria Komova, Daria Spiridonova, and Madison Kocian. Liu Yang (; born 10 September 1994) is a Chinese artistic gymnast. He is the 2020 Olympic and 2014 World champion on rings. He was a member of the Chinese team who won gold at the 2014 World Championships and also won bronze in the team competition at the 2016 Olympics. Career Liu began gymnastics when he was five years old. At the 2013 Cottbus World Cup, Liu won the silver medal on the rings behind Greek gymnast Eleftherios Petrounias.
