Smart Araneta Coliseum
The Araneta Coliseum, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as Smart Araneta Coliseum, is an indoor multi-purpose arena, sports arena that is part of the Araneta City in the Cubao area of Quezon City, Philippines. Nicknamed as "the Big Dome", it is one of the largest indoor arenas in Asia, and it is also one of the largest clear span domes in the world. The dome measures approximately making it the largest dome in Asia from its opening in 1960 until 2001 when it was surpassed by the Ōita Stadium in Japan with a dome measuring . The Smart Araneta Coliseum is mostly used for indoor sports such as basketball and volleyball. 2018–19 MPBL Season
The 2018 MPBL season is the inaugural season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. For the tournament for this season was named the Rajah Cup, also known as the Anta–Rajah Cup after sponsor Anta Sports. The tournament opened on January 25, 2018 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City. After the opening ceremonies, the game between Parañaque Patriots and Caloocan Supremos immediately followed. All games were aired on ABS-CBN Sports (ABS-CBN Sports and Action Channel 23 & HD Channel 166). The tournament ended on April 19 with the Batangas City Athletics defeating Muntinlupa Cagers in the 2018 MPBL Rajah Cup Finals. 2019 MPBL Datu Cup Finals
The 2019 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Finals (also known as the 2019 MPBL Datu Cup Finals), was the best-of-5 championship series of the 2018–19 MPBL Datu Cup and the conclusion of the season's playoffs. Under a new playoff format, the San Juan Knights, the MPBL Northern Division champion, and Davao Occidental Tigers as the MPBL Southern Division Champion, competed for the inaugural Datu Cup championship and the second overall championship contested by the league. Davao Occidental, which finished with the better regular season record, held the homecourt advantage for the series. Beau Michael Vincent Esparrago Belga (born November 30, 1986) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters of the Philippine Basketball Association. He is also an assistant coach for the UST Growling Tigers of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Early life Belga was born and raised in Gubat, Sorsogon and is the eldest among the three siblings. His father was a family driver while his mother was a housewife. Peter June Libo-on Simon (born June 1, 1980) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He has formerly played in the Philippine Basketball Association, playing for 16 years with the Magnolia Hotshots franchise. Simon was drafted 43rd overall in the 2001 PBA draft by the Sta. Rey Francis J. Guevarra (born November 24, 1986) is a Filipino professional basketball player who last played for the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The SM Mall of Asia Arena, also known as the Mall of Asia Arena or the MoA Arena, is an indoor arena within the SM Mall of Asia complex, in Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines.
