2019 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship
The 2019 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship (WILC) was the fifth international box lacrosse championship organized by World Lacrosse every four years. It was held 19-28 September 2019 at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. The winner of the WILC wins the Cockerton Cup, named for All-American lacrosse player Stan Cockerton. Venues The competition was hosted in two venues in Langley, BC: Langley Events Centre and Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre. Teams A record 20 countries competed in the 2019 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships. Langley Events Centre
The Langley Events Centre is a multipurpose facility in the Langley, British Columbia (district municipality), Township of Langley, British Columbia, Canada. The LEC debuted in April 2009, hosting the 2009 BC Gymnastics Championships. It boasts an arena bowl with a 5,276 capacity for sports, including 24 individual suites. The LEC also showcases a triple Gymnasium with a capacity of 2,200 spectators under its centre court configuration. The venue's second building houses the Field House, a dry floor arena, as well as a double gymnasium with a capacity of 1,000 spectators. Other highlights of the facility include a Banquet Hall with an 800-person capacity, an indoor walking track, meeting rooms, and the Willoughby Community Centre, while includes a fitness facility, outdoor playground and various grass and turf fields. Hong Kong Lacrosse Association
The Hong Kong Lacrosse Association is the governing body of lacrosse in Hong Kong. Founded in 1993, HKLA is a member Of World Lacrosse, Asia Pacific Lacrosse Union (APLU), as well as Sports Federation & Olympic Committee Hong Kong, China (SF&OC). The representative teams organized by the association regularly participates in international and regional tournaments, both in Field lacrosse and Box Lacrosse. International / Regional Events World Lacrosse Championship : The Hong Kong Men's Representative Team (HKMRT) has participated in the world ranking tournament since 2002, The WC is a once every 4 years event organized by FIL. The Men's Representative Team participated in the 2018 FIL World Lacrosse Championship at Israel in July 2018 and finished with 27th place out of 46 teams.
