2019 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships
The 2019 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships was held in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada, from August 28 to September 1, 2019. This was the 30th edition of the most prestigious mountain bike UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, event on the calendar, held annually since 1990, and the senior and under-23 cross-country races also functioned as a qualifier for the cross-country race at the Cycling at the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2020 Summer Olympics. Mont-Sainte-Anne
Mont-Sainte-Anne is a ski resort in eastern Canada, located in the town of Beaupré, Quebec, about northeast of Quebec City. The mountain is part of the Laurentian mountain chain and has a summit elevation of above sea level with a vertical drop of . For day skiing, there are 71 available downhill ski trails covering the southern, northern and western sides of the mountain. For night skiing, there are 19 trails covering the southern part of the mountain only. It is the highest vertical for night skiing in Canada. The average natural snowfall at the summit is . History Ten trails and four lifts (including a gondola) were featured on the mountain inauguration day in 1966 on January 16. Sina Frei (born 18 July 1997) is a Swiss cross-country cyclist. She participated at the 2018 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, winning a medal. Jolanda Neff (born 5 January 1993) is a Swiss cyclist, who primarily rides in the cross-country cycling and cyclo-cross disciplines, for the Trek Factory Racing team. She won the gold medal in the women's cross-country event at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Career She was the overall winner of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in 2014 and 2015. Alan Hatherly (born 15 March 1996) is a South African professional mountain bike racer. He rode at the cross-country event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He finished in 26th place with a time of 1:42:03. In 2018, Alan achieved a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games, subsequently going on to be crowned the 2018 Under 23 Cross Country World Champion.
