2019 Turkish Basketball Cup
The 2019 Turkish Basketball Cup ( tr, 2019 Basketbol Erkekler Türkiye Kupası) was the 34th edition of Turkey's top-tier level professional national domestic basketball cup competition. The tournament was held from 13–17 February 2019 in the Ankara Arena in Ankara, Turkey. Fenerbahçe Beko won the competition by defeating Anadolu Efes 80–70 in the final. Qualified teams The top eight placed teams after the first half of the top-tier level Basketball Super League 2018–19 season qualified for the tournament. The four highest placed teams played the lowest seeded teams in the quarter-finals. The competition was played under a single elimination format. The tournament was held from 14–18 February 2018 at the Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul, Turkey. Anadolu Efes won their 11th title. The Turkish Basketball Federation ( tr, Türkiye Basketbol Federasyonu, TBF) is the national federation for basketball in Turkey. It is headquartered in Istanbul. They organize the Basketball Super League, the Turkish Basketball Cup and the Turkish Basketball Presidential Cup. Adrien Rene Moerman (born 7 August 1988) is a French professional basketball player who plays for BC Zenit Saint Petersburg of the VTB United League. He is also a member of the senior French national team. Early years Moerman was born in Fontenay-aux-Roses. Konstantinos "Kostas" Sloukas (Greek: Κωνσταντίνος "Κώστας" Σλούκας; born January 15, 1990) is a Greek professional basketball player for Olympiacos of the Greek Basket League and the Euroleague. Gaziantep Basketbol is a professional basketball team based in the city of Gaziantep in Turkey that plays in the Turkish Basketball Super League. Their home arena is the Karataş Şahinbey Sport Hall with a capacity of 6,400 seats. History The team was founded in 2007. In 2011 the club promoted to the Second Division. In the 2011–12 season, the team promoted to the top tier TBL. In 2012, Royal Halı (a Turkish carpet producer) became head sponsor of the team and the team was re-named to Royal Halı Gaziantep.
