The 2019 Texas Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 27, 2019, with kickoff at 6:45 p.m. EST (5:45 p.m. local CDT) on ESPN. It was the 14th edition of the Texas Bowl, and was one of the 2019–20 bowl games concluding the 2019 FBS football season. Sponsored by the Academy Sports + Outdoors sporting goods company, the game was officially known as the Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl. Teams The game was played between the Oklahoma State Cowboys from the Big 12 Conference and the Texas A&M Aggies from the Southeastern Conference (SEC). This was the 28th overall meeting between Oklahoma State and Texas A&M; Texas A&M leads the all-time series, 17–10. NRG Stadium
NRG Stadium, formerly Reliant Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Houston, Texas, United States. Construction was completed in 2002, at a cost of $352 million and has a seating capacity of 72,220. It was the first NFL facility to have a retractable roof. It was the 15th edition of the Texas Bowl, and was one of the 2021–22 bowl games concluding the 2021 FBS football season. Sponsored by tax preparation software company TaxAct, the game was officially known as the TaxAct Texas Bowl. This was the first edition of the Texas Bowl to be played in the month of January. The 2011 Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas, the sixth edition of the game, was a post-season American college football bowl game, held on December 31, 2011, at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, as part of the 2011–12 NCAA Bowl season. This was the first year the game was known as the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas. The game was previously known as the Texas Bowl in 2010 and is not to be confused with the previous Meineke Car Care Bowl held in North Carolina which is now called the Duke's Mayo Bowl. The game, which was telecast at 11:00 a.m. CT on ESPN and available for streaming online via ESPN3, featured the Northwestern Wildcats of the Big Ten Conference versus the Texas A&M Aggies of the Big 12 Conference. 2011 Texas A&M Aggies Football Team
The 2011 Texas A&M Aggies football team represented Texas A&M University in the 2011 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Aggies were led by fourth year head coach Mike Sherman during the regular season and Tim DeRuyter during their bowl game. They played their home games at Kyle Field. This was their final football season as a member of the Big 12 Conference. They finished the season 7–6, 4–5 in Big 12 play to finish in a tie for sixth place. They were invited to the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas where they defeated Northwestern 33–22. The 2019–20 NCAA football games were a series of college football bowl games played to complete the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Texas Bowl is an annual postseason NCAA-sanctioned Division I FBS college football bowl game first held in 2006 in Houston, Texas. Each edition of the bowl has been played at NRG Stadium, previously known as Reliant Stadium.
