2019 South American Cricket Championship – Women's Tournament
The 2019 South American Cricket Championship was a cricket tournament that took place in Lima, Peru from 3 to 6 October 2019. This was the second edition of the women's South American Cricket Championship in which matches were eligible for Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status, since the ICC granted T20I status to matches between all of its Members. Brazil were the defending champions from the 2018 edition. The five participating teams were the national sides of Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico. Brazil retained their title by winning all four of their matches in the round-robin stage and then defeating Argentina by 4 wickets in the final. Women's Twenty20 International
Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) is the shortest form of women's international cricket. A women's Twenty20 International is a 20 overs-per-side cricket match between two of the International Cricket Council (ICC) members. The first Twenty20 International match was held in August 2004 between England and New Zealand, six months before the first Twenty20 International match was played between two men's teams. The ICC Women's World Twenty20, the highest-level event in the format, was first held in 2009. In April 2018, the ICC granted full Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status to all its members. The Brazil women's national cricket team represents the country of Brazil in women's cricket matches. Lima Cricket And Football Club
Lima Cricket & Football Club is a Peruvian sports club based in the country's capital city of Lima. Lima Cricket claims to be both the oldest cricket club in South America, and the oldest association football-practising club in Peru and the Americas, having been founded in 1859 by the city's British community. The football team currently participates in the local league of San Isidro District, Lima. The club is the ''de facto'' home of the Peru Cricket Association, and hosts the ''National T20 Cricket League'' during the summer months of January to April. Veronica Vasquez (born 18 October 1995) is an Argentine doctor working as an anesthesiologist, and the captain of the Argentina women's national cricket team.
