2019 National Invitation Tournament
The 2019 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I men's college basketball teams that were not selected to participate in the 2019 NCAA tournament. The tournament started on March 19, and concluded on April 4. The first three rounds were played on campus sites with the higher seeded team acting as host. The semifinals and championship game were held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Experimental rules On February 22, 2019, the NCAA announced a set of experimental rules that were used in this edition of the NIT. The following rules were also used in the 2018 NIT: * The three-point line was moved to the FIBA standard of . Madison Square Garden
Madison Square Garden, colloquially known as The Garden or by its initials MSG, is a multi-purpose indoor arena in New York City. 2018–19 Harvard Crimson Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Harvard Crimson men's basketball team represented Harvard University in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Lavietes Pavilion in Boston, Massachusetts and were led by 12th-year head coach Tommy Amaker. They finished the season 19-12, 10-4 to tie for first place. The 2018–19 Saint Francis Red Flash men's basketball team represented Saint Francis University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Red Flash, were led by seventh-year head coach Rob Krimmel, played their home games at DeGol Arena in Loretto, Pennsylvania as members of the Northeast Conference. The Red Flash finished the 2018–19 season at 18–15, 12–6 in NEC play to finish in a tie for first place. Due to tie breakers, they were the 1-seed in the 2019 Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament. 2013 National Invitation Tournament
The 2013 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I teams that were not selected to participate in the 2013 NCAA tournament. The annual tournament began on March 19 on campus sites and ended on April 4 at Madison Square Garden. Baylor defeated Iowa, 74–54, to capture the Bears its first NIT title in school history. Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is a collegiate athletic conference whose full members are historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the Southeastern and the Mid-Atlantic United States. It participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I, and in football, in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The 2018–19 Norfolk State Spartans men's basketball team represented Norfolk State University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Spartans, led by sixth-year coach Robert Jones, played their home games at the Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall in Norfolk, Virginia as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. 2018–19 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2018–19 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2018, followed by the start of the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season on November 6, 2018. Conference play began in late December 2018 and concluded in March with the Missouri Valley Conference tournament at Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri. 2016 National Invitation Tournament
The 2016 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I teams that were not selected to participate in the 2016 NCAA tournament. The annual tournament was played on campus sites for the first three rounds, with the Final Four and championship game being held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The tournament began on Tuesday, March 15 and ended on Thursday, March 31. An experimental rule allowing players six personal fouls instead of five was approved for use in all national postseason tournaments except for the NCAA Tournament.
