2019 Misano W Series Round
The 2019 W Series Misano round (also commercially referred to as #WRace3) was the third round of the 2019 W Series, and took place at the Misano World Circuit in Italy on 8 June 2019. The event was an undercard to the 2019 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters round at the same circuit. Report Background Following a first and a second placing in the opening two races, Jamie Chadwick leads the series on 43 points – six points ahead of Zolder race winner Beitske Visser. Having scored podiums in both of the races so far, Alice Powell sits third in the standings some 10 points behind fellow Briton Chadwick. 2019 W Series
The 2019 W Series was the inaugural motor racing season of the W Series, an all-female Formula 3-level racing series. Driver selection 55 drivers were initially entered in a qualifying longlist for the 2019 season, with a further six added later on. An evaluation was held at the Wachauring in Melk, Austria over 26–28 January, with series judges—including David Coulthard, Alexander Wurz and Lyn St. James— selecting a shortlist of drivers that would get to test the Tatuus–Alfa Romeo T-318. Drivers completed 10 'modules' that tested their skills in racecraft, fitness, media training and sponsorship pitches, before a final knockout series of races that would decide the 28 drivers that advanced to the next stage at the in Almería, Spain. Vivien Keszthelyi
Vivien Keszthelyi (born 7 December 2000) is a Hungarian racing driver who started her career at the age of 13. She is a member of the Audi Sport Racing Academy. Keszthelyi started her professional career in 2014, in the Suzuki Swift Cup Europe series. She became the youngest and only female member of Audi Sport Racing Academy in 2015, also becoming the first Hungarian racing driver with factory connection. In 2016, she won her first races in an Audi TT in the Central European Zone Trophy, where she won both the sprint and the endurance categories. In 2017, Keszthelyi became the youngest Hungarian point scorer in international series, when she competed in the Audi Sport TT Cup. Sabré Cook
Sabré Cook (born May 21, 1994 in Grand Junction, Colorado) is an American female racing driver and mechanical engineer. She has previously competed in the W Series. Biography Cook started her professional motorsport career with an invitation into the 2017 SCCA National Championship Runoffs event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, finishing ninth in the Formula Enterprise class. She would step up to American entry level formula in 2018, running partial campaigns in both U.S.F2000 and Formula 4. Her best results would be a 14th in USF2000 (at Indianapolis) and a 15th in USF4 (at the Circuit of the Americas), however she would only be classified in the former championship standings as points are only awarded to the top 10 in F4. Naomi Schiff
Naomi Schiff (born 18 May 1994) is a Rwandan and Belgian racing driver and television presenter. She was born in Belgium, to a Belgian father and Rwandan mother, grew up in South Africa, and now lives in the United Kingdom. In 2020, Schiff was appointed as the diversity and inclusion ambassador for the W Series, and in 2022 she became a presenter for Sky Sports. Esmee Anna Hawkey (born 2 March 1998 in Chislehurst) is a British racing driver who currently competes in Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, driving a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo for T3 Motorsport. Biography Inspired by her father, Hawkey began racing karts at the age of ten. She had previously attended ballet and tap dancing classes, but chose to leave both in order to pursue a career in motorsport. Hawkey moved up to the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2014. Sarah Moore (racing Driver)
Sarah Moore (born 22 October 1993) is a British racing driver. She won the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2009 and competed in the InterSteps Championship in 2011. She was awarded the Rising Star status by the British Racing Drivers' Club in 2009. Moore was the first female racing driver to win a TOCA-sanctioned race, and the first to win a junior mixed-gender, national-level series in the UK. She is the first female to have won the Britcar Endurance Championship. Castle Combe Circuit is a motor racing circuit in Wiltshire, England, approximately from Bristol. The circuit is based on the perimeter track of a former World War II airfield, and was opened for racing in 1950. History The Castle Combe airfield opened in May 1941 on land of the Castle Combe estate, owned by the Gorst family, and operated as RAF Castle Combe for seven years before being decommissioned in 1948. During the war, the airfield was a training ground for pilots. From 1946 to 1948 the buildings served as a resettlement camp for Polish ex-service personnel. Frederick "Rikky" von Opel (born October 14, 1947) is a former racing driver who represented Liechtenstein in the Formula One World Championship, the only driver to have done so. He won the Lombard North British Formula 3 Championship in 1972. He participated in 14 Formula One World Championship Grands Prix for the Ensign and Brabham teams, debuting on July 1, 1973. The Ferrari Challenge is a single-marque motorsport championship that was created in 1993 for owners of the 348 Berlinetta who wanted to become involved in racing. The series was proposed by Ferrari Club Nederland founder and President Hans Hugenholtz to Carlo Tazzioli and Michele Sofisti who were in charge of Ferrari Deutschland.
